Mercure St Albans Noke

Comfortable bed, shower a bit difficult to operate. Breakfast good, no lift to bedroom, car park operated by Parking Eye - overprescriptive rules can lead to £100 penalty for minor errors in recording stay.

Stayed here as an anniversary treat as we’d got married here 18 years ago, staff were helpful and friendly, room was a good size, health suite was clean and lovely, breakfast was good. Overall a really good stay!

Stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were brilliant and brought a bottle of Prosecco and a card to our table the night of our anniversary.

A nice hotel with a lot of noise in the rooms. We needed to move from a ground floor room to a 2nd floor room to make sure it's quite.Well it wasn't.. So bring your ear plugs.

We only stayed for one night on our way to visit family. The room was clean and comfortable, perhaps a tad dark, our window faced a wall. The carpet was slightly threadbare in places, the staff were helpful and courteous. We left before breakfast, but the spa was great, pool with steam room. sauna and group hot tub!

Initial view of the exterior was it needed a bit of paint, check in was poor, friendly but poor due to something about a room update so had to wait a while, after a 2 hour drive time for a beer we thought, no one to serve behind bar so had to wait. Eventually got served. Had something to eat, fantastic, hot and plenty of it, breakfast dinner and tea faultless. Second visit to bar another customer who came in after me went to get someone to serve, I had to ask is the bar service always this bad? Just today was the reply. From then on a guy took over David I think, service was then a lot lot better. Overall would I stay here again.....yes but if had another bad bar experience then would not return or recommend.

I got what I asked for without any hassle. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.

Upon arrival we could not park near the hotel due to events unfortunately I had a disabled husband when we did get in we had a problem with price and was charged to much we were taken to our room then when we needed to go back to the reception we were told in no uncertain terms by a waitress that we could not walk through this area due to event and had to walk around out side with disabled husband children were running up and down above us every night till early hours on the last morning we decided to have breakfast £15 was way to expensive for soggy hash brown over done and rubbery bacon and sausage I thought that the charge for the room had been sorted as it was refunded when I went to pay again they still tride to over charge again and had to go through it all again overall not happy considering the cost

This chain varies enormously, but this is a very good one. Food was good and the gym facilities are very good indeed. Staff friendly and room clean and quiet. I always find the wifi a bit difficult to connect to as the 'sign on' page doesn't always pop up but that seems to be common to all Mercure hotels, so I'm not scoring the hotel down for this.
