Travelodge by Wyndham Cleveland Lakewood

Good value for the money. I often stay at cheap hotels, and this was better than I expected for a cheap hotel. Room was clean and in good condition. Common areas of hotel were nice looking and clean. Parking lot was continually surveilled by camera. Location by Lake Erie and parks was very nice. Poor was that there was only 1 bath towel for 2 of us. I told the front desk, and she said she would bring one down but never did. I came again to her the next day, and she said there are no towels left. There were no cereal bowls for breakfast on the last day of my stay, but the front desk lady brought us some large coffee cups, which did the job.

Scary!

The place was covered in mold. The tiles were falling out of the ceiling of the bathroom. The windows had a layer of grime that has been there since the Reagan administration. The windows were also open and no way to lock them. The lock on the door was busted. We checked in, and within 30 minutes I was checking out. The very unfriendly staff asked why and I said “it’s filthy.” They replied with “yeah.” No surprise, just “yeah.”

WE DIDN'T STAY! Upon arrival the outside of the building looked nothing like the photos on the website. We were concerned about that, but the lobby didn't look too bad. We had to wait just under 10 minutes for the receptionist to return to the front desk. We were supposed to check in to room 201, the room was hot and dingy. After messing with the AC unit for a few minutes trying to get it to work we requested another room. The receptionist gave us keys for room 202, but the key cards didn't work. My husband went downstairs twice with issues of the key cards not working in the door. The receptionist finally came up with us to the room and had to let us in with a master key. Upon inspection of that room, it was also very dingy everywhere and the bedding looked as if it was all wrinkled and not clean. The AC worked in that room but there wasn't a remote for the TV, however there was a tv on the wall and one on the floor, it was so bazaar. After our awful experience in the first 20 minutes of our arrival, we decided we weren't even staying there, it was a dump! The receptionist couldn't help me much with a refund but gave me an email for the property contact. I also contacted Neeta via the live chat on Expedia's website requesting a refund for this booking since we didn't even stay and it was one of the worst experiences and ruined our weekend where we were moving our daughter into college and hoping to get part of Sunday with her. So disappointed!

Terrible all around. Absolutely do not stay here. Not sure what Wyndham thinking by having their name associated with this place.
