Britannia Hotel Wolverhampton

Room smelled of pee. New room allocated, pillows too hard, mould in bathroom, room heater not hot so room was cold.

Only problem i had was parking as they dont have a personal car park and i need to factor in £7.50 to the total price of parking in a NCP car park overnight

I travel fairly regularly and usually on a budget so I'm used to some pretty basic hotels. This was something else though. My TV did not work, the bed was uncomfortable but worst of all is the noise, non stop all through the night. At first I thought I must have left a window open but sadly no, the windows are just so thin you can hear literally any noise outside. I usually can drop off no matter what but I was up until the early hours of the morning thanks to this. I don't expect much for the price I paid here but was very disappointed with this nonetheless. I'll be avoiding this one at all costs in the future.

Never again. Room was so cold i had to go get a water bottle. Bed sheets had stains on them. Windows are old letting in wind. Every 5 minutes all you can hear is police cars. Theres also dust everywhere.

Hotel need a big update, restaurant was closed when I arrived at 7:30pm so had to venture out on a rainy cold night to find somewhere to eat, there was a lot of noise each morning at 4am and also I was surprised there is smoking rooms which the smell permeates the corridors . The one redeeming elements is the breakfast this was pretty good.

Arrived at the hotel very late after a long day and awful drive to be told there were no rooms available. We had a pre-paid booking with instructions for Late Check In after 2300. Receptions sollution - 'here's a hotel number - try them they might have rooms' !!!!! Very poor customer service at the very least an alternative hotel & transport should have been arranged. Won't be using this hotel again

Booked this hotel with friends in order to see a band that were playing in town; as we were in town for a band and a few beers we were not too bothered about luxury. Hotel is centrally located for mainline rail station and local trams/buses. Staff were friendly and efficient on check-in and I was allocated a decent sized room with a standard double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath. The room decor was tired but was clean, comfortable and warm. There was a European football match playing in town on this night so the hotel was quite full with mostly male football fans, despite this I had a good nights sleep and had no noise issues. I did not have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on this. The hotel has a bar attached which is open to non-residents and appears to be popular with locals in the evening. Overall I would recommend the Britannia if you are looking for somewhere to stay on a budget or if you are simply looking for a room to sleep in as I was. At this price point I do not expect too much and as such I was pleasantly surprised.
