Dragon Gate Inn

The room was clean.

Having to climb a huge flight of stairs to our room. Parking was 22 dollars and in impossible to find without help. Building was not marked. A 200 dollar deposit held on our credit card still not released almost 24 hours after check out. Called to ask and was told 2 weeks. Had to ask for coffee to put in the very dusty coffee maker Had to go to the desk to get the box for the TV brought up. Toilet seat badly stained. Paint in bathroom peeling Price was incredibly expensive.

location: good restaurants are around the corner.

housekeeping: room floor was a bit sticky.

The room was very clean. well lit, and AC worked well. Washroom and shower was very clean and renovated. it had a fridge and a microwave which was useful.

The hall way was a disaster, tight, scarey. old building. and bed was squeaking.

Location was good and beds were comfy

The poor management and blaming mistakes on new staff. Not just once but twice which lead to me having to pay more for my room than initially paid both times. Basically bait and switch. It is not the customers responsibility to pay for a inns error. That is the businesses mistake and cost. This is an illegal business practice as well. When questioned the response back and lack of understanding it was your error. I had paid for the room was very off putting. Then saying next time if extending to just do it on booking to avoid this issue was unacceptable. Perhaps if someone makes a mistake you should properly train them not to make the same mistake 2 days later and expect the customer to be okay having to pay more after the fact by surprise. Again bait and switch. Also didn't like not having any hot water for the 5 days we were there. Just lukewarm water. Really didn't like when someone came into my room and went oh you are still here? Checkout was at 11 and when I reminded them we had extended they acted all surprised and unsure even though they were the ones that took my payment. I could say more but I'll leave it at that other than I will not be returning in the future. I was going to come back for another 3 days next week. I chose another location as a result of my experience. Too bad I had liked this property until this last visit and how it ended. Really soured me

Good location - 20 minute walk from downtown. Lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby.

Unfortunately my room was not very clean. One of the towels had some kind of brown coloured debris on it 😅 (see pictures). There was also a lot of dust under the bed and hairs on the blanket. The freezer has clearly never been defrosted. Despite being advertised as having WiFi, there was no stable connection in my room.

Location is great

Entrance area is a bit scruffy needs a paint and clean up.
