North Stafford Hotel Town Centre

We have been staying periodically at the North Stafford Hotel over the last 4 years and have always enjoyed it. We have always found the staff helpful and our rooms clean and comfortable. If ever there was a problem staff have dealt with it promptly. It is a budget hotel but has retained some lovely original architectural features, which hopefully could be restored to its former glory with some investment.

Staff were amazingly helpful, hotel was pretty run down on the inside, the carpet was held together with duct tape and the bed was as hard as a board

Great staff - friendly and helpful, lovely food, clean room including linens and bathroom, great location just outside Stoke-on-Trent station BUT the condition of the property needs a lot of work - creaky floorboards (woken by person in room above at 5am) with some boards in my room feeling as if they might give way at any time, toilet wouldn't flush in the morning (ok in evening), water damage to walls and ceiling barely covered over/fixed. Photos on website bear no resemblance to the rooms I stayed in.

The stay overall was satisfactory. The condition of the room given it’s smashed bathroom window and hair clogged sink was much improved by the service and staff. Firstly, there was no record of the booking with Hotels.com so check in was delayed as I had to forward the reservation confirmation to the receptionist to complete a new booking and repeat the I formation already submitted. The receptionist was very polite and apologetic but not the standard you expect in today’s competitive market when booking sites are frequently used. As above, the bathroom window was smashed and completely open so cold throughout the night.

The bathroom door scraped along the floor and when closed properly took a monumental amount of effort to get it open again. I took a shower at about 5pm and the bathroom was still steamed up at 11pm when I got back to the room even though I had left the extractor fan on the whole time. The radiator didn’t work and the room was freezing the whole time. There was more coffee sachets than there was sugar. Would’ve been good had I drank coffee. The mugs in the room were dirty already and there was water in the kettle that had an awful smell. Check in was “4pm” but turns out anytime after 1pm you can check in. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheet was way too thin for such a cold room. Would ask for a refund but hopefully the money I paid for a room can be used to make improvements.

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The hotel is a little dated and could do with a re vamp. Our room was basic and very dated.

Decent building, but 100% worn down and needs a revamp on the insides of the rooms.

No one at reception when there was a queue of people. Gave us the wrong room so some stangers walked in on is during dinner. Yellow bed sheets weren't the nicest either.

Broken central heating, springs pinging in mattress, mold in bathroom and windows, worst view ever, disgusting breakfast, so much more I could say! Really run down could be amazing but would need a fortune spending. Booked a month ago paid 40% more than going room rate.

The hotels was a dump rooms on website do not reflect what they really look like tape round shower head bed rock hard felt like i was sleeping on the floor toilet leaking rooms dirty carpets had duct tape on were they was so worn out that was room 1. Room 2 as i had to move due to condition of room 2nd noisy and freezing so did not sleep all night si had to move again as they would not give me a refund 3rd room was just as bad dirty didn't look like anyone cleaned in a very long time toilets plublic were disgusting. Your hotel is based on 3 star rating should be 0 rating
