Very clean! Beautiful views

A handy location on the height above Ballycastle, overlooking the beach. Pleasant atmosphere with helpful, friendly staff members. The rooms were spacious and very clean. We were on the ground floor to the rear which was quiet. On the Saturday night ( immediately before Easter) while we were there it was busy and the entertainment was laid on preformed by a talented lady singing while accompanying herself with Guitar. I felt that the cost was expensive for what we ate and drank and because my wife is lactose intolerant we had hoped gor a more extensive range to choose from on the menu but dinner that evening meant she had realistically only one choice open to her which was a Steak. Every other item had no guarantee of being dairy free...and the menu contained no guidance in terms of listing allergens in the usual format of using a number reference which I would have thought would be commonplace. She was offered a dessert which sounded perfect only to be told alas that she couldn't have that after all. Overall the staff were lovely and while their apology eased the frustration of those niggles, truthfully I had hoped for better..! Because of the cost incurred and the reputation we had heard that The Salthouse basks in !!

Liked the lookout for food. Enjoyed the music in the bar. Breakfast was good. Check out simple. Two lovely young lads working in the lookout were very friendly and good at their jobs. The Dyson fans in the rooms are a godsend.

I definitely didn't like the heat in the bar and in the bedroom. It was far too hot!!!. Also in the Lookout we had pizza and sides of onion rings and chunky chips. The chips came out completely covered in salt. I detest salt and can't eat it!!! I asked for them to be changed as you could see the white salt layered on. The waitress said " you didn't specify that when you ordered!!" I was quite shocked at her saying this....... if you salt the food, why do you place salt on the tables??? Surely i am not the only person who dislikes salt.

Room was basic with no coffee machine or water in the room. 5 star price/cost for max 3 star - akin to a Travel Lodge. Would not recommend

Absolutely stunning!!!!!!!! Staff amazing so helpful and polite . Calming atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast was fantastic with perfect views of sean. Would definitely stay again
