SpringHill Suites by Marriott Rochester-Mayo Clinic/St Marys

We were given a wheelchair accessible room with two double beds instead of a king as booked. Bed/mattress height was about 18 inches high. Kind of hard to get up and out of. Mattress dipped in the middle. No counter space to set toiletries in bathroom. Mirror in shadows so hard to apply makeup. Lighting overall bad and dim. The bathroom floor was all bubbly from water damage. Towels and bedding and service were good as well as the carpet. There was an overall smell that permeated everywhere. Excellent breakfast.

The hotel was good but no parking was available since all spots were full. The staff just told us to find a spot on the street. So after about 25 minutes of driving around, we found a spot about 3 blocks away.

Breakfast was bad, road closures, limited parking spaces. Area is not convenient. Toilet did not flush properly. Staff was polite.

The staff was wonderful. We had to leave early due to an emergency back at home, and our checkout was handled quickly and with care.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. No charge for parking our car on the hotel’s property. Will go back again! There is a free shuttle to the Mayo Clinic.

While it looks updated and nice, once you are there in person it definitely feels run down and dirty. Exceptionally humid and had lingering bad odors throughout the building and in the room - lasting overnight. Worried about carpet and overall cleanliness. Poor maintenance - paint and structural issues in the bathroom. Street noise. Back door/entry is very unsafe - door doesn’t close completely and not monitored. Parking lot was very dark, tight parking, and felt unsafe.

The staff at the front desk were nice, easy to work with and helpful. The breakfast was great! They had good variety including hot items like bacon, eggs, waffles and oatmeal with a variety of toppings. There was also cold cereal, muffins, yogurts, and more. It was a convenient location close to everywhere we needed to go. It's an older building and the wear is visible. The carpet was worn in the hallways. The vinyl floor in our suite was coming up and there were chips in the bathtub and caulking. The layout wasn't ideal. If someone was in bed, you couldn't use the sink (separate from the toilet/bath) without the light shining on the beds. There was a separate living space with a nice sofa that doubled as another bed, but no door between it and the bed area and the "closet" was an open space, no door. There were stains on the footstool and some garbage missed between the wall and sofa. Having a fridge and microwave was a plus. The pool is pretty small and doesn't hold many people. Overall, it met our needs and was a pleasant stay.
