SpringHill Suites by Marriott Rochester-Mayo Clinic/St Marys

The property was in a very convenient location with free parking. The hotel is aged but in good condition. The pool is small and the “fitness center” (more like a closet with a treadmill and stairclimber) was smaller. Breakfast was sufficient. Staff very friendly.

We recently stayed at this Staybridge Suites and were unfortunately disappointed with the condition of our room. On a positive note, the staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the public/common areas of the hotel were clean and well-kept. However, the cleanliness and upkeep of our room were far below expectations. There were multiple cleanliness issues including crusty stains on the couch, dusty cobwebs in the corners and ceiling, a stained trundle mattress, and a large hairball on the bathroom floor from a previous guest. We also found dried toothpaste on the wallpaper by the bathtoom sink, pink bacterial buildup in the shower, and garbage (including food and coins) under the couch when we pulled the trundle out. The bathroom flooring was severely warped and spongey, and we encountered 2 large spiders and more established webs in the bathroom near the ceiling. Additionally, getting from the front door to the parking lot required walking through the smoking area, which was very unpleasant especially with a child who has asthma. We’ve had good experiences at other Staybridge Suites in different cities, which made this stay all the more disappointing. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location due to the poor cleanliness and lack of maintenance of our room.
