Friendly staff and great location

This was a great location for Kyoto exploration, very easy to get a cab anywhere you wanted to go, very easy walking in the area with the castle right across the street. Excellent Ramen right around the corner and good coffee/breakfast spot right down the street. Lawson's and 7/11 just a few minutes walk away. My family got two adjacent rooms on the 8th floor, they were very, very nice. The best rooms we stayed in at 4 different hotels over a two week trip. Would stay here again. Very impressed.

Excellent hotel and service from staff. Very close to the metro station. Right next to Nijo castle and lots of restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood.

The staff were so nice and always very helpful! The room was comfortable with a great view. We probably won't get a chance to visit Japan often but I would choose this hotel again. Thank you for your hospitality

It was a competent hotel experience by American business standards. Rooms: small (no room for bags). Online pictures (wide angle) were not accurate, as the rooms were very small and the "city view" was there if you twisted your head to find it. For the price, and expectations set by the online presentation, I was disappointed. Hotel: It is clearly an international business hotel, so if you are looking for a more American-familiar experience this is probably a good pick for you. Not a local one. Many tour groups on buses came in and out while we were there. Food: the Western Breakfast was done well, although much of the food ran out 30 minutes prior to closing, not up to the service standard expected. Also, staff was gruff and could use some coaching. I asked a staff for a water while standing next to the dispenser, they barked "you have to pay" and walked away. (I would have paid !) By contrast the Japanese breakfast was special, Away from the bus-tour crowd in a beautiful setting, quiet, a traditional breakfast with traditional kind service was very much appreciated. Location: Perfect. walking distance to Memorial Park, the markets and anything we could think of.

The customer service was amazing, staff was very friendly and the hotel is close to the train and bus routes. Loved being close to Nijo Castle and short bus ride to everywhere else. The hotel itself is very outdated. Decor seems very 80/90s but the rooms were spacious and lots of toiletry options.

Situated opposite Nijo castle, quiet but convenient location.

Nice place, but the televisions inside need streaming options.

Overall our stay was not bad. The first night right after checking in, we found a bug in the bed. The front desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a suite for no extra charge. Aside from that, Breakfast was not included. Everything was about 15-30 mins train ride from the hotel. It was a very local area to stay in. Nice view of the Nijo-ji temple.

The bell captain was so amazing and helpful. There was a shuttle to and from the airport to hotel. The swimming pool was in very bad shape
