This resort is exceptional! What a fantastic experience!! The property is absolutely gorgeous, our room was luxury defined. The staff were friendly, engaging, responsive, and helpful. They truly want you to enjoy Pura Vida!

In a very well hidden tiny bucket at the bottom of your bucket list hides Tabacon, Costa Rica. It would be hard to imagine a more wonderful experience. Of the dozens of Ticos we met in this region I’d like to give mention to Carlos, Kellor, and Francisco at our breakfasts. Truly outstanding new friends. I’ll miss them. The property and grounds are beyond words.

Incredible stay with top notch service from staff and great amenities. Each staff member greets you with a smile and friendly face each and every day. Tabacon has an incredible staff and facility to offer to all of its guests. Food and drink at the resort (Tucanes/Ave) is the best in the area, giving no reason to leave the resort for such. The thermal springs are incredible. The spa services are great. The facility grounds are pristine and well maintained. During a stay you'll have the ability to see plenty of wildlife ranging from exotic birds, sleeping sloths, and lizards that run across water. The staff goes out of their way to learn your name creating lasting memories and reasons to come back and visit. Keilor, Oscar, Emerson, Bryan, Stewart, Rodriguez and Priscilla - these are our best elements who made our trip extra memorable. A special shout out and thank you to you!!! You have ruined the rest of our Costa Rica trip. No one we be able to live up to the attention to detail your resort provided. Shame on you for going above and beyond. Who does that nowadays?

Tabacon is a beautiful, tranquil resort with anything you need for a relaxing or exciting getaway. The hot springs are stunning, the staff was friendly and accommodating. We only ate breakfast at the resort and it was delicious. Oscar was our waiter most days and he was exceptional; friendly and informative, always a fresh pastry basket on hand. Come, stay and enjoy, you won't regret it!

Great food, friendly staff and cool environment!! Highly recommend the Costa Rican plate with the fish or chicken. We ate here multiple nights on our honeymoon!

Staying at Tabacon is a must while in Costa Rica. Wonderful thermal spa with gorgeous landscapes, springs and water features! Wonderful staff. Fine foods at Tucanes.

Well worth staying here if you are visiting the Volcano area and doing some of the local activities. The Hotel is modern and the Thermal Springs are a great addition.

Beautiful resort. Everyone was very friendly. We had an amazing direct view of the volcano from our room. The thermal springs were a great experience. And the private Emphemeral dinner was one of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

From the moment my family and I arrived at Tabacón, we knew this place was something special. Every staff member we met was warm, friendly, attentive, and incredibly courteous—so tuned in to every detail that we felt welcomed in a way we’ll never forget. Our room was peaceful with an unbelievable view. It was quiet, perfectly located, and housekeeping kept everything immaculate and tidy each day. You can feel how much pride the staff takes in caring for each space and each guest. And the hot springs… words honestly fall short. No photo can capture the beauty or the sense of calm they create. The natural springs take your breath away while somehow soothing your soul at the same time. It’s something you have to experience with your own senses to understand. The lounge area was just as exceptional. The staff, the food, the drinks, the cleanliness—every detail was perfect. The food especially… fresh, vibrant, beautifully prepared. Every bite and every drink felt like it was crafted with intention. We were continually amazed by the quality and the service. And we have to mention the people who made our stay unforgettable. The manager at Ave restaurant was extremely attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making our meals special. The breakfast hostesses and servers remembered our names and preferences every morning—something that touched us deeply. Their warmth, their smiles, their kindness… breakfast became one of the highlights of our trip because of them. We visited another resort afterward that had fresh fruit and pastries too, but every single morning we found ourselves saying, “Tabacón was better.” I can still taste the fruit—succulent, vibrant, and consistently fresh—different selections each day, yet always the same level of care and excellence. And at Bares, Isa was outstanding. One of the best meals we’ve had, not just because of the food and atmosphere, but because of her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine spirit. She made our night truly memorable. What stood out the most, though, was the mutual appreciation. The staff didn’t just serve us—they connected with us. They remembered us. They welcomed us like friends. And we appreciated them just as much. It created a feeling of home, comfort, and heart that can’t be manufactured. I told my travel agent afterward: Tabacón has my heart. This place is more than beautiful—it’s soulful. It’s the people, the food, the springs, the atmosphere… but especially the way you’re made to feel seen, cared for, and genuinely welcomed. We will absolutely be returning.
