Amazing Thermal water experience at Tabacon Resort. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. The rooms are very clean and the staff is polite and friendly.

Beautiful grounds and excellent food. The pools were sensational and inviting, especially with a swim up bar. We found the place clean, quiet and the rooms really spacious. There was a wedding there and it did not impact us in the least.

This resort is the best place I have ever stayed . The staff and service are what makes it shine! I have never felt so welcomed as I did at Tabacon. The food, spa, pools , staff and excursions were all amazing ! Tabacon did not disappoint ! Every single detail was not missed . From beginning to end our stay was perfect !

We spent five nights at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa and overall, it truly is a stunning property. The natural beauty around the hotel is incredible, from the variety of birds we saw each day to the lush surroundings of the thermal springs. The thermal experience itself is absolutely unique and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The breakfast staff were kind and attentive, and we really enjoyed the couple’s massage, morning yoga, and the convenient shuttle service to and from the hot springs. That said, there were a few areas that didn’t quite meet expectations for a luxury stay. Some members of the staff felt a bit formal and dry, while others were much warmer and welcoming, so the service experience was inconsistent. Our room did not have a bathtub, which was surprising for this level of resort, and the minibar was completely filled with paid drinks, leaving no space to actually use it. The in-room coffee also wasn’t the best quality. Coming from another SLH property (Senda), it felt like Tabacón offered fewer in-room amenities and less personalized touches, such as complimentary laundry, snacks, drinks, or thoughtful extras, and the overall atmosphere felt busier and less tranquil than expected for a luxury resort. Still, we had a really nice stay and appreciated many aspects of the property. It’s beautiful, memorable, and worth experiencing—but there are definitely areas where it could feel more genuinely welcoming, attentive, and luxurious.

Loved every minute of it. Specially how friendly and welcoming everyone was, from our welcome to the restaurants, bars and check out! Also saw almost all the wildlife we wanted to see, right at the property itself!! We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend to everyone.

The Tabacon is fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and clean. The service was impeccable. The staff members were so friendly and always greeted us with smiles. The level at which we interacted with them reminded me of the staff on a cruise ship. We received wonderful service from Alfredo in the Shangri La area. The dining room staff knew our regular tables and remembered our dietary restrictions. Christian and Oscar did a fantastic job. The breakfast hostess was a friendly face we looked forward to seeing every morning. I believe her name is Joselette. We chatted about our plans for the day and she would inquire the following day about our specific experiences. Everyone in our group enjoyed the variety of breakfast foods. The hot springs area is absolutely gorgeous! We had such a good time finding and enjoying all the different hot springs. We cannot wait to return!

Had a great stay in fact it was so wonderful we extended it a day. Tabacon is my favorite resorts in the world. My wife is a flight attendant, and we see a lot of resorts

The resort was fabulous. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The Springs are phenomenal. We so enjoyed them and the easy access from the hotel. The food was the best we had in Costa Rica! We will be back and will bring our family with us!

Incredible stay with top notch service from staff, including great every day amenities. Each staff member greets you with a smile and friendly face every day. Tabacon has an incredible staff and facility to offer to all of its guests. Food and drink at the resort (Tucanes/Ave) is the best in the area. La Fortuna nearby is good - staying on the resort you may find higher dining experiences. The thermal springs are incredible. The spa services are great. The facility grounds are pristine and well maintained. During a stay you'll have the ability to see plenty of wildlife ranging from exotic birds, sleeping sloths, and lizards that run across water. The staff will go out of their way to learn your names, creating lasting memories for your trip. Thank you Tabacon for such an amazing time! 6/5 stars.

We loved our stay at Tabacon. Tabacon was recommended to us by friends who visited previously and it was paradise! We went for our honeymoon and the staff were so kind to us and really made us feel special. Our room was beautiful, huge, and so comfortable. The grounds are stunning and there is a lot of wildlife right in the area so we enjoyed looking up in the trees and listening for birds. The views of the volcano from the rooms are incredible. The hot springs are lovely but definitely get busy so I recommend going in the early part of the week if possible. The hotel guests have an exclusive area in the hot springs and exclusive hours. The shuttle from hotel to hot springs was easy to navigate and ran frequently. We had wonderful massages at their spas and meals in both restaurants. It is expensive, but it is a really special experience and I really felt that we were treated so well and all the staff were so accommodating. Their included breakfast is nice and the valet service was so helpful since we rented a car for our trip. Highly recommend for a special occasion trip.
