Camino Real Zaashila Huatulco

Hotel is great! Pools are great, georgeus town and views! Super relax. Deff not a party town. Not to many food options inside hotel amd pricey breakfast speciallyfor kids, deff get a cab to downtown for other options.

Beautiful ocean-front hillside property with modern Mexican decor. Has 1 or the best and “private” beaches in the Tangolunda Bay of Huatulco.

The property seemed like a 5-star resort from the outside and had some elements of it but a lot of issues as well. The positive: suite was great overall, the pool was great, service overall was great and staff were super friendly. Nancy especially is a star and she fixed a bunch of issues we had ASAP. However, we had a bunch of problems in our two rooms like the private pool wasn't clean, AC wasn't working so they had to switch rooms and the room service food was terrible. The hot tub also wasn't working. Also, at checkout they asked us to return all the pool towels which makes no sense since they were in the room anyway and room service could have taken them away.

The stay was quite disappointing in most respects. The one thing that saved our trip was the amazing services by the pool/beach-bar service. Reynaldo and Avelino were the two servers that saved our family vacation.

Everything was good overall: we didn’t get a hair dryer, hand towels, and our other didn’t have an ironing board, nor hand towels. The restaurants were fine. We had continental breakfast included, yet we weren’t able to take it off to the beach or anywhere else on the property. So if I only wanted a coffee, had to drink it at the restaurant or else they would charge. There were no coffeemakers in the rooms, nor in the hotel areas accessible to guests. The ADA access is also not available and I would not recommend this hotel for senior citizens who cannot climb up stairs. This is a requirement for accessing the pool, beach, restaurants, lobby area, and all facilities.

The management team was rude. Hurricane Erick hit while we stayed at this hotel and we were not able to go out due to the roads being flooded. So we had to stay in the hotel, we didn’t have a lot of food options. Luckily there was a starbucks inside the hotel and we at least had coffee. The pool was flooded and the kids were not able to get in for the remaining of our vacation. We were aware the pool was flooded with dirty due to the storm but the hotel staff did not do anything to make our stay better.

Amazing amenities - the pool and beach area are fantastic. The room was nice, but nothing special. The duvets were awesome, though, and we slept great. The service at the breakfast/dinner restaurant was variable, but the lunch place was really nice. And the breakfast buffet was great (not included!). The dinner menu was not very child friendly.
