Good size accessible room and bathroom, quite easybto get around

I would tell you how I liked the breakfast if I had received it. I was told that breakfast was included but it apparently wasn't. My options were "cash, card or charge it to my room".

I prepaid for the room but during check in, I was asked to pay an additional $20 for "incidentals". I asked, "what's this for?" The answer was "twenty dollars". After the extra $20 hit and the bait and switch on the "included breakfast", I'm not likely to gamble with another visit. When I visited the neighboring hotel last year, everything was as advertised.

Location was convenient- everything else about this place is 0/10. The lobby and hallways are filthy. Rooms dirty and worn down- hair on the floors, wallpaper dirty, cheap worn linens, wallpaper stripping off.

I was disappointed NO FOOD OFFERING!

We had a Guest Room for 1 night with breakfast included in the room rate. A small check in area but we were given a warm welcome. Located away from the downtown area, and grouped with other hotels of similar price and star rating. The furniture in the room felt too big for the space available. The room was clean and everything worked. The balcony space was not particularly inviting in itself nor did it offer a great view. The breakfast was serviced in the lobby space. It offered a good selection of food, and provided a well priced option for a good breakfast. Booking in advance meant that the price paid felt like good value.

I stayed at this Courtyard by Marriott during a business trip to JMU, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst Courtyard experiences I’ve ever had. When I first checked in, I was assigned a room directly next to the elevator. I immediately went back down to request a different room, and while the front desk agent did switch me, her attitude made the interaction less than welcoming. The new room was no better. It smelled strongly of mildew, felt dirty, and was very outdated. Honestly, it had more of a motel feel than what I would expect from a Marriott property. I couldn’t even relax because it gave me the uneasy feeling that I might bring bedbugs home. For context, I stayed at another Courtyard in Lynchburg the night before and had an amazing experience there. The difference between the two properties was night and day. I hope management takes the feedback seriously because this location does not meet the standards I’ve come to expect from Courtyard by Marriott.
