The Rampant Horse Inn

Clean room. Convenient parking. Quiet at night but bar below was also slow. Mattress outdated. Constant door banging from downstairs was annoying.

Lovely country pub with loads of character. Breakfast was freshly cooked and well presented. Fully recommend staying there.

Rooms above the pub a bit noisy when the music is playing. Could do with a freshen up but clean. Pub did not serve food so had to go out and get it.

Check in was easy, You do need to be there before 10pm otherwise the staff are no longer on site from what i was told. Fresh milk and orange juice in the room fridge and even small selection of cereals in the room with bowls and spoons which was a nice extra touch. Staff were polite and helpful and i will always try supporting these smaller run buisnesses before using the main larger companies. Overall pretty good.

Sadly we didn’t like anything about the property! The lady in the bar who showed us where the room was and handed over the keys was very rude and unhelpful. Not friendly at all, we asked if there were extra duvets or blankets as the room was cold and she said if they weren’t in the cupboard (which they weren’t) she didn’t know. The room was right above the pub and we returned to the room around 11pm. The very loud music and noise went on until 1.45am, so a very poor sleep. It should have been advertised that this would be the case - we would never have booked if we knew about the noise. We would NOT recommend this place at all, it was so disappointing!!!

Friday night pub-noise level below was quite tolerable for sleeping.

Okay as a base - convenient for travelling to coastal places of interest. Ideal location as in the town and close to all amenities and the market. Free parking onsite. Clean and tidy.
