Red House By The River

We are just back from a 3 night stay, as a family of four (kids 17,20). Wow what a location, it couldn’t have been better, it goes without saying that we will miss the views . The check in process with Rosa was faultless, she took the time to talk us through the flat, the area and Porto generally. We had dinner at one of the restaurants she recommended (MUU Steakhouse) - amazing steak and service. The flat was spotless , with two toilets, and the honesty box for beers/waters/sundries was most welcome . The flat was spacious , with a well equipped kitchen which we didn’t use , apart from the nespresso machine. We would definitely recommend this place (and by the way, Porto was just divine). Great location for all sights, and the cafe downstairs was great for breakfast and drinks throughout the day!

Absolutely loved my stay! The location of the property is top-notch, really spacious, and perfect for exploring Porto. Waking up to the beautiful view every day was such a treat. Plus, Rosa, our host, was incredibly friendly and helpful—she really made our stay special. I had a fantastic experience overall and would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

The space had everything you could need, but was a little small for us. We’ll go with a bigger unit on the next visit.

Really great location with less than 20 min walk to almost all the restaurants. Wonderful views of the river and bridge. Kitchenette was great for the few things we had. We loved having the window open and hearing all the action outside and getting the fresh air. We also did 2 really great morning runs along the boardwalk and the bridge and to a few markets!

We had no issues, but if you are a light sleeper, it can be loud. Parking would be tough, we fortunately returned our rental car then came to the property. We seemed to be unable to contain the shower.

Rosa’s apartment is in an amazing location just upstream from the iconic bridge in Porto. The facilities are excellent, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Rosa provided a comprehensive list of places to eat and visit. Access to the building and the room is very easy. We would love to stay again when in Porto.

We loved everything

Being in the historical area offering exceptional view to the bridge and monastery.

Perfect location, just close enough to the main riverfront activities, but just far enough away to not hear it. Small tapas place almost next door which was great for dinner. Small breakfast place literally next door for coffee and simple breakfast.

Only providing 2 coffee pods for the coffee machine - not two per day, but two total per stay. Then charging 1 Euro for any additional ones.

The location of the appartment is fantastic and it is very comfortable for 3 people with fabulous views across the river.

For an appartment which is at the top end of the market, it didn't feel very welcoming. We did not like things like coffee or beer and water in the fridge being charged - it felt cheap and mean. Rules with financial penalisations are also not very friendly! We also communicated a couple of problems - you can't lock the back door, the safe does not work and these issues were not satisfactorily addressed. The duvets need covers - again it feels like corners are being cut.

Fantastic location, right on the Duoro river, and a great view of the bridge. Spacious apartment, clean, comfortable, and modern. The host was exceptional. She gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We loved this place and would definitely stay here again. The host even sent a young man to help us with our luggage at check out, and she carried our bags up the stairs for us! Now that's service. We are a fit couple in our 60s, and the stairs were steep, but it gave us a fabulous view, so we'll worth it.

Everything was perfect

Rosa was there to meet us and gave a lot of useful tips for our stay. Location good, near to both Gaia port houses and the old town. Nice view of the river.

The studio apartment is very small with nowhere comfortable to sit. The description on another well known review site is inaccurate, mentioning a non existent roof terrace/ outside space. Very steep internal steps up to the apartment. Lack of storage space both in the main room and the shower room, this could easily be added in with a bit of thought.
