Great property, we actually thought we booked the whole place, so we made a mistake. The double room was small, but really amazing views and the bed was comfortable. The shower was wonderful.

There was no wardrobe for dresses or drawers for clothes, so living out of a large suitcase hard. But, if bringing hand luggage, it’s perfect!

Rosa was a lovely host & provided great recommendations. The location on the River and next to the bridge was amazing and had fantastic views of the river.

The only small thing - the bed was too firm/hard for my taste.

The cost and size.

Wonderful location on the banks of the river, close to all the action. We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment on the second floor. It has a lovely view over the river and the Louis 1 bridge. At the back of the apartment, there is a very pleasant balcony looking out on vegetated rock face where we ate most of our meals. Easy access to busses and river cruises, but a bit of an uphill walk to the metro.

Red House on the River is a beautiful place overlooking the Douro River. It is a wonderful location for the Port Wine Cellars across the river and the lively Ribera area. We parked at an undercover parking garage just across the bridge, a quick walk from the accommodation. Rosa was a fantastic hostess. She met us and showed us everything and suggested different places on a map she gave us. The apartment was soundproof with the window closed and the air conditioning worked well.

Helpful and proactive host, central location, cleanliness, facilities and bedrooms.

It's not a big deal but having a clothes dryer would be a bonus to our stay since travelling with children. The place doesn't get much sun due being built on the shady part of the rock and it took hassles for us to dry clothes properly even in the summer. The shower itself was great but the holder needs fitted properly due to wear & tear at the time of our stay. Hope it gets fixed eventually for the next guests.
