Old Bank Hotel

Well situated for walking around Oxford. Welcoming staff. Excellent restaurant. Secure parking. Top marks.

Excellent welcome at reception and car parking was reserved for us and free. Room was beautiful, very clean and excellent facilities. Breakfast was served from 7-11am and was of a very high standard with good choice. We really enjoyed the Library area where we sat, read the daily newspapers and had tea & coffee.

Loved the hotel. Great location to walk to many of the places in Oxford during our two day stay. The receptionist was good enough to let us in a little earlier than check in as our room was ready when we arrived. We enjoyed the comfort and found the artworks etc interesting to see. The staff were friendly and attentive for any questions we had on the hotel or the area (including when we ate one night at the Quod and had an excellent waiter, particularly giving some wine suggestions and tastes of a couple to help us decide). One reason for us staying here was the car park it has in the central area. That was very good to have! (We found it a little tricky to work out how to get there while complying with local traffic regulations but the hotel does provide good descriptions before you get there so we made it. As someone mentioned, the entrance to the car park is pretty narrow from a narrow lane but most cars will be fine other than the giant ones!) All in all, an excellent place to stay.

Location and staff.

Beds way too hard. And there was a weird machine noise in the night from outside which reverberated through the pillow. It was intermittent. We were in room 36.
