Extended Stay America Select Suites - Chicago - Lombard - Oakbrook

Never left a review, but this experience was so incredibly heinous that I feel a need to share some details to save others from wasting their money on this hotel. The service was way below par, waiting a long time in line, forgetting one of our room keys, notifying us that there was no longer a crib available for my baby, and then the front desk lady disappearing from the desk altogether. We then walked up to our room and the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke and a pungent wet dog smell with dogs barking as we passed by the rooms. The carpet was damp with huge dark circles of dirt. I stayed with my 2 kids and husband and felt unsafe with people loitering around outside all hours of the night. The absolute most abysmal part of my experience was the smell of my room. Despite no smoking signs, the room reeked of smoke and was so strong that my husband puked and after not sleeping for hours, I left due to nausea from the powerful stench. The pillows were flat, bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets were scratchy. I had to leave for some fresh air and was worried about my children's health. I’ve never been happier to leave an establishment in my life. I sincerely hope I can save at least one person from staying here because I will always remember this as the worst accommodation of my life.

The rooms were dirty and the hall smelled.I had to buy cleaning products to clean my room the towels were dirty had to buy some. My family members had the same problems and on of the rooms the door would not lock. Will never go there again and we were there for our brothers funeral it was terrible, tub was dirty and stained black all around it.

No one at check in, waited 45 miniutes to have someone show up. Keys would not work. I was helped and told I needed to lift shimmy the handle to open the door. This did not work even with hotel assistance. New room, no hangers, no iron, no iron board, tv did not work (2 calls about the tv - no one showed up to correct, no shampoo

Worst nightmare ever! We were greeted with deafening traffic on either side of the motel, one from the highway, the other from a very busy road. Staff was unwelcoming at the desk. As we walked to our room, we saw every vent in the hallway was covered in a thick layer of dust. There was a guest (apparently living there) sweeping his room in to the hall?! There were air fresheners staged by the window, which seemed an odd thing to do. We entered the room, and were immediately disappointed. The room looked dated, tired, and dirty. Numerous items were just gross, including the fridge and bathroom. Our view was lovely, overlooking the dumpster! This place is a JOKE, and should be shut down! I had just gotten Covid, so was hoping for some rest. I was so happy to leave and go to a much nicer, newer hotel, that was also cheaper! If you read this many negative reviews, all saying the same thing, you gotta trust it. Save your money and health, and go elsewhere. I also don't need a fake response from management. It's all empty promises.

The bathtub was clogged. The guy at the front desk named Justin I think put an order to be fixed the next day. The next day, the lady working in the morning was very arrogant and said that there is no maintenance until tomorrow. That day, I was obligated to shower, but the next day was my check out after wasting over $200 to get that kind of a suite. I am very disappointed. No more booking in there.
