Hyatt House Herndon/Reston

The hotel is in a good location and was one of only a few properties in the area that could accommodate two separate rooms in a suite set up. Convenient for Dulles airport and Tysons. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast had hot and cold food, the usual fare. Bed and bed linens were comfortable.

Hotel is somewhat outdated in terms of style, but still functional. One of the smoke alarms started beeping due to a low battery every 30 seconds our first night, so we had to call maintenance to replace the battery the next day, and they did so efficiently. I was charged more than the rate quoted by booking.com after checkin, and when I brought it up with the front desk, they highlighted that local tax rates had increased recently, so be careful booking via booking.com, expect to pay more I guess or book via another platform..

Nice clean hotel with exceptional customer service. Bed was very comfortable. Room had a kitchenette stocked with all needs and very convenient.

We took this hotel because it said they had a free shuttle service. We assumed it was for the airport - it's not. I asked about the shuttle the night before, and it would have been great if the reception person clarified they don't take you to the airport.

Buen hotel y bien ubicado

I've stayed in this Hyatt before, so I anticipated a general level of moderate maintenance and upkeep. However, during my most recent stay, things were broken and not working in the two-bedroom suite my family and I occupied. One king bed's box spring was broken, which caused the bottom corner of the bed to slope downward. I slept on that side of the bed the first night and kept feeling like I was going to roll out. I investigated the next day and found the broken box spring. Luckily we had an extra towel in our suite that I could fold to put under the mattress to lift it a bit. In addition, the toilet in our bathroom didn't flush correctly each time. The water would recede but the suction was not enough to take the toilet paper. Several times when I tried to flush a second time, the stopper inside the tank would pop out of its seat, causing the toilet to run without stopping. I'd have to lift the lid of the tank and put the stopper back over its drain inside the tank. Lastly, we would've liked to use the gas logs in our suite (the hotel advertises them as an amenity), but they were not working. Our stay was four days long (Wednesday to Sunday), and we never received any housekeeping services. We had to remove our own trash and put it in the hallway for pickup. On Sunday when we needed to leave early to travel, the breakfast did not start at 7am. The breakfast attendant ran behind and when the doors to the breakfast area were finally opened at 7:10am, multiple supplies and condiments were still not out. Serving spoons were missing from the hot items, so the first customers had to use the little plastic spoons to dole out their own scrambled eggs and gravy. In comparison to my stay at this same Hyatt in August, my stay this month was worse. It was disappointing because I chose to bring my family to this hotel for a holiday trip, and it was affordable with the amount of space needed for our family of four. However, if we ever visit DC again, I'll pay a little more to stay in a hotel with beds and toilets that aren't broken.

Herndon Hyatt staff was polite and friendly. Room was clean and hotel was quiet. There is plenty of parking. Breakfast was good and freshly made. The only issue is that there are insufficient luggage carts. We waited for over an hour and were not able to find a cart. Drink refrigerator in snack area was broken drinks and water was hot, otherwise a good visit.
