Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

We stayed at the Jasper Fairmont Lodge on two separate occasions a week apart in April. The first time we stayed in cabin 613, and while it is newly renovated, there is absolutely no view and no privacy unless every curtain is closed. Additionally, the thermostat is located in a small ante room, yet the primary source for heat and air conditioning is in the spacious bedroom. The result is that at 19 degree setting for cooling results in a 14-15 degree temp in the bedroom. A 20 degree setting for heat results in a 26 degree temp in the bedroom before it cycles off. The thermostat needs to be relocated into the bedroom. On our second stay we were assigned cabin 504 which not only has stunning views but the thermostat is located in the bedroom and privacy is provided buy large barn type doors separating the bedroom and sitting/living space that allows both privacy when needed and an equal temperature throughout the entire cabin when opened. So beware of what room you are assigned. It will make a huge difference in the quality of your stay. Additionally, the staff is fantastic as is Orzo and the wait staff and sommelier. The scenery is simply stunning in every direction, making cabin/room choice all the more important!
