Mercure Hotel Köln Belfortstraße

Hotel was within walking distance to most places. Room was spacious, bed was very comfortable. Room temperature was warm but cooled down with air conditioning and opening window. Window had no child lock and opened very wide quite dangerous from the 4th floor. Shower was very nice, hot water and complimentary toiletries. TV mainly all German channels. WiFi quite intermittent Only a coffee machine in room but was provided a kettle as my fiancé only drinks tea. Lift out of order but was offered a lower ground floor room which was nice of them. I managed to make it up the stairs finally!! Staff very attentive and the food was very nice in the restaurant. Would stay there again.

Xmas markets, great location and fantastic rooms, superb choices for breakfast and great staff.

The hotel was really well located for what we needed, it was clean and the staff were really helpful. The breakfast was also really nice.

This property is too far away from bars and restaurants, especially in the winter when long walks in the rain are not pleasant. The bar closes at 11pm and no bar or restaurant on a Sunday. The staff are friendly but never told us of a rail strike as they book us a taxi to the train station! House keeping walked into our room and started routing in the wardrobe looking for the ‘do not service our room’ sign even thought I had opened the door ten minutes earlier and exchanged towels with another member of their team and said no housekeeping today please. She could see we were still in bed but didn’t care. She wanted that sign! On a positive, the beds were the most comfortable hotel beds we ever slept in, just don’t look at the duvets under the covers.

We stayed in Room 312 last Sept 24, 2023 in this hotel. The room size is smaller than most hotels, we found it hard to open our 2 luggages and there is NO area to place one's toiletry bag in the bathroom. The restos are about 10-15 minutes walk away.

Stayed 3 nights, easy check in but rooms not ready till 3pm, cam back for my bag a lot later on. No fridge, no safe and no wifi, without these I would only rate it a 3 star. Very comfy and very clean. 15 mins to the Dom or main station. Quite peaceful location too and I definitely recommend it.

Stayed for 3 nights, it's around a 15 minute walk from the Main station or Cathedral, two routes you can take, one is past the Marriott and music college, the other is up a nice pedestrian street with bars, cafes and shops on it. The hotel is in a nice urban peaceful area, 2 mins to the river front. The hotel is a 4 star officially but without a safe, fridge, or wifi I would only rate it as a 3 star. My room on the 4th floor was quiet and very clean, good storage, good bathroom with toiletries. Nice comfy bed, very big room. Check in was quick and easy although the room wasn't ready until 3pm, I could leave my bag in storage. I was in the block opposite and the restaurant was in the main complex, there is parking should you have a car. Definitely recommend it, if you don't mind the walk to the centre.

Good area, quiet. Put into an annex across the road - should be made aware of this before booking. Air conditioning poor, took whole day to cool room down. Male receptionist in mornings was very helpful and friendly, unfortunately same can't be said of the female receptionist we encountered in the evenings, uninterested and unfriendly. Pool/gym needs to be better signposted and explained. Paid €20 each for breakfast - not the best value for money but adequate.
