"A great stay."

10.0

Our stay at Cawthorne was excellent. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were also excellent and it was lovely to be fussed over by Pascal who went out of his way to make sure that everything was to our taste. Pascal is a very accomplished cook and an experienced hotelier - it showed! Thank you for a great stay in your lovely home.

Beautiful house and a very friendly host who is clearly a great cook. Superb breakfast and lovely touches like a glass of fizz and canapés on arrival. Homemade sourdough bread is amazing. Will definitely use it again if back in the area.

"Memorable Stay"

10.0

We had a perfect two night stay at Cawthorne House. Our room was clean and spacious with all the amenities you could wish for and only 10 minutes walk into Pickering town centre it was the perfect Location. The real star of this Guest House has to be Pascal, what a friendly and approachable host he was, nothing was too much trouble, from tips on the local area to local restaurants near by. His breakfasts were amazing and we really appreciated him getting up at 5.30am to bake his gorgeous Sourdough Bread which was still warm when served The canapes and glasses of fizz on arrival, along with the home baked cookies were the extra touches which made our stay here so memorable. We would highly recommend at stay at the Cawthorne House if you intend to visit Pickering. Thank you Pascal.

"Great Yorkshire Guest House, great location and amazing breakfasts"

10.0

We stayed 5 nights with Pascal and his family and had a wonderful stay . The rooms are very large and spacious with decor as you would expect in a country house. Parking to the rear of the property. The breakfasts were amazing, fresh fruit, full Yorkshire using the best sausage and bacon and of course freshly made sour dough. Pascal spends slit of time making everything perfect and it shows, he also gave us great tips about walks locally and where to eat and find great local hostelries. We would definitely stay again

"Excellent stay at The Cawthorne House."

10.0

This is a long overdue review of the North Yorkshire Cawthorne House in Pickering. This was our second stop in our three week long jaunt around England and Wales. What intrigued us about this B&B was the ability to learn how to make sourdough bread from the owner and master bread maker Pascal. We did this on our third day, so that we could take a loaf we made with us our journey. The location of the Cawthorne House is very convenient. We could walk to everything. Restaurants, pubs, the church, the railroad station, shops. All close by. We were fortunate to be able to park our car behind the building. Otherwise we would have had to park on the street. Not as convenient as behind the building. We left it there for our entire stay. Our room was big and spacious. The bathroom was well appointed. We had a closet to hang up some clothes. The inn was quiet for sleeping. Much appreciated. Pascal's breakfasts were terrific. We especially enjoyed the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. And of course his freshly made that morning sourdough bread. Despite me wanting to "over touch" my sourdough bread while preparing it, my loaf came out perfectly. In fact we took it to the next place we were staying and shared it with fellow guests to rave reviews. If you ever find yourself in Pickering, do consider the Cawthorne House for your lodging. You won't regret it.

"Choose this B&B when you visit the area"

10.0

Obviously anywhere that makes their own sour dough bread, is the place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Pascale. Lovely welcome, great room, quiet and plenty of space. Good shower. Breakfast - apart from the Kelloggs offering- yuk…_is freshly made and a good selection. The location of Cawthorne House is brilliant, easy to walk into the centre. Nice walk to Thornton-le-Dale. Also has a car park round the back, so handy.

"Warm and welcoming stay"

10.0

We’ve had an excellent 2-night stay at Cawthorne House. They were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. They were very thoughtful with extra bathroom products and tea making facilities so you could relax and enjoy your stay with ease. Rooms have a seating area so you can just enjoy the canapé when you’re first welcomed to your room. Pascal is extremely friendly and as chatty as you want him to be. He cooks an incredibly breakfast each morning with his famous sourdough which is a treat. The place is walkable to all the main highlights in Pickering with plenty of parking. Overall an extremely lovely stay.
