Cawthorne House

Great location in a beautiful town can walk into town and eat at so many cafes and restaurants.We thought the town was a hidden gem.On arrival at Cawthorne House we were greeted by Pascal who showed us our beautiful room then returned with bubbly and treats.Slept so good such a quiet spot.Breakfast was amazing specially the warm sourdough that had been freshly baked.The room was a great size with a small table and chairs to sit at the window and enjoy the view of lovely historic buildings.The room was clean and well equipped with everything you need.Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous place run by a fabulous family. Breakfast was amazing as was Pasqual's sour dough bread. Is very clean and comfortable with lovely extras like a welcome drink with homemade canapè plus home made cookies in the room. Its a very convenient location with good eateries within walking distance. The hospitality from Pasqual and his family was exceptional. Will definitely stay again. Thankyou

The owner, Pascal, provides a unique personal experience to your stay in his hotel. Excellent breakfasts are mixed with conversation, advice, and helpfulness for his guests. Accommodation is decent. We had the one ground floor room which was a reasonable size. The room was clean and room service was provided every third day. The hotel location was very good, being a short walk to the High Street and North Yorkshire Moors Railway. There are 3 parking spaces taken on a first come first served basis. If full, the alternative is to park in the road outside which is very busy.

We stayed for 3 nights to see the fantastic Moors and the train to Whitby. We would come again for another stay at Cawthorne House! Pascal is a superb welcoming host and provides an excellent range of home cooked breakfasts. He seeks to understand any allergies and easily adapts and recommends acceptable alternatives. Rooms are clean and welcoming. Another 5 Stars!

What a great place to stay - lovely room, amazing breakfast and close to the centre of Pickering. Pascal is an exceptional host who made us feel extremely welcome and his sourdough course cannot but leave you enthusing about bread making. Altogether a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

Booked for a single over night stay, and liked it that much we decided to stay an additional night the next morning as our room was available. On to the experience: Located perfectly for walking distance into the centre of pickering, which has lots of eateries and bars (highly recommend figaros italian). We went on our motorbike on arrival the owners, Pascal and Sarah, were exceptionally accommodating and allowed us to park the motorbike on the rear garden behind closed gates. (If you're a biker you will understand how much peace of mind this brings). As we arrived, Pascal showed us to our room and returned shortly after with hot canapés and a glass of fizz each. We placed our breakfast order and time slot for the next morning. The room was spacious, clean, and well stocked woth tea and coffee (it is rare to have decaf coffee in the room and enough milk); you can tell they have worked in hospitality for years. Pascal is a hoot! Made me laugh on more than one occasion, friendly, personable and welcoming. Breakfast was outstanding, couldnt fault anything. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola and normal cereals were waiting, and then replaced by a full English and smoked salmon and eggs. Everything was quality ingredients, cooked, and seasoned perfectly. And not to mention the homemade Sourdough! We cannot rate our stay highly enough and we will definitely be returning.

We visited Cawthorne House last weekend for the first time and WOW what a find! Pascal is the perfect host giving great advice on places to eat and visit as well as wine recommendations from his experience in the industry. Lovely bedrooms with high standards and very comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast was fabulous and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back!

Our annual trip to pickering with family and this year it as grown to 6 of us.We were delighted to see that my old friend Pascal the owner of the best B and B for miles around was able to put us all up so we could show off his lovely home and gorgeous breakfast to our two new long weekend family members.Well what an impression he made on them with his humour and knowledge of food and drink in the hospitality industry and his travels to france and Europe,so it looks like six will return next year if not sooner for our two new members of the group.Thanks pascal for another amazing weekend and see you soon friend

A wonderful hidden gem B&B. Lovely welcome from Pascal and his personalised breakfasts with his famous sourdough bread are delicious. It’s the special little things that make you feel special, hime made cookies in the room, canapés and bubbles on arrival. Bottled water in the room as well as plenty of beverages and toiletries. Great location for the coast of the lovely market towns and return after a long day to a comfortable bed.
