"Disappointing"

2.0

Went here for Easter brunch. Extremely disappointing. The staff seems as though they are being forced to be there. We first walked in and it was immediately a problem. Valet made a rude comment to my step son as he was trying to carry everything in including his infant son that he didn’t hold the door for us ladies. Gee, I mean you work here, could you not help? The hostess looked like she is was being held against her will. Asked if we were having a good Easter which I replied, so far and she then replied she would also as soon as this all was over. Okayyy. The waiter was actually nice and helpful. Food was decent but definitely not anywhere close to what it cost which was $170 an adult. Honestly that wasn’t even a big deal to me because it’s Easter and you are paying for the experience. So then we go out for the Easter egg hunt. Let me preface this by saying my daughter is half Asian and the other little girl we were with was half Mexican. I am 100% white. They were just standing there waiting for them to finish putting the eggs down and a lady who worked there for some reason felt the need to approach them and tell them that they needed to make sure that they were just standing there and waited until they were done. Basically lecturing them to not touch anything. Ok no problem, that is exactly what they were doing anyway. What really bothered me was in addition to them not even doing anything other than standing there and waiting, there were (surprise surprise) 2 little blonde white girls walking around actually picking up eggs right in front of this lady’s face and guess who the woman said nothing too. I’m sure you can take a guess. Extremely disappointing, snobby atmosphere. Totally unacceptable. I will definitely never go there again. I only picked this one instead of the Fairmont Princess because of the petting zoo they had but I assure you that will never happen again. I hope Marriott straightens out their staff because it’s quite surprising for a Marriott property. I suggest avoiding them for holidays unless you would like to ruin your day and pay for it.

"Nice location but not worth the money."

7.0

Location was far from a lot of things but the view was really great. The room was nice but the AC temp setting kept changing during the night so we would have to keep getting up to change it.

Lots of frustration with the staff. Ate dinner at the restaurant only once because it was so slow and very loud. Carpeting on the stairs showed a lot of wear. Couldn't get an invoice print out because "only the other computer prints to the printer". No pool side food and drink service. Some staff said they did, some staff said no. Had to carry drinks and food from the bar all the way down the stairs to the pool. No bottled soda in the fridge downstairs, you could buy a soda from the restaurant but it was a very small ice filled cup.

"We would absolutely stay here again! Perfect for a 3-5 night getaway without leaving the property."

10.0

We loved the size and location of our room. We stayed in the older section of the hotel and loved how it was nestled into the mountain range with a large patio. The restaurant had great food with lots of healthy options, view was spectacular with sliding doors that opened to the outside. The 2 pools were clean and nice to have an adult only option. The front desk was very helpful and greeted you when entering and exiting the lobby area. We took several wellness classes and loved them along with our instructor Sarka (pronounced Sharka)!

There was not enough seating at the adult pool and it didn't feel like it was heated to 85 degrees. The outdoor furniture above the hot tub area was torn and really worn, needs to be replaced. The server for the pool area really hustled but when the hotel is full, you really need more than 1 server. It took a long time for drinks and snacks. The bartenders in the bar area of Cielo were overall not very good. It took a really long time to get a cocktail once you ordered and most of them did not seem very friendly nor experienced.

"A Pretty Hotel with Major Service Issues"

4.0

We recently stayed here for a week (mid-March) and came away with very mixed feelings. There are some genuinely nice aspects of the property, but unfortunately the service issues overshadowed much of the experience. The room & setting: We booked a 2 queen sunrise view room, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable - no complaints there. However, the rooms look directly into a private residential community which is essentially a stone’s throw from your balcony. These homes are conveniently cropped out of the hotel’s website photos. If you’re expecting expansive desert or mountain views, that’s really only the case in the adults-only wing. Location & grounds: The hotel is a bit removed from most restaurants and attractions, though we were aware of that going in. A car is absolutely necessary, and valet is the only option at $25/day. On the plus side, there’s a great, easy trailhead about a mile up the road, and the grounds themselves are well maintained and very pretty. Service (the biggest issue): This is where things really fell apart. I did a lot of research before booking and didn’t see service called out as a consistent problem, so this was surprising. During our stay (week of March 16), the hotel felt severely understaffed, and many employees seemed either brand new or possibly temporary staff. The result was consistently poor, often baffling service across the board. - Café: Hot breakfast items (like sandwiches) sold out almost immediately each morning. Aside from the sit-down restaurant or room service, there aren’t other breakfast options on-site. - Pool service: At most, one person was covering both the adult and family pools. They’d appear every 45 minutes to an hour, make a quick round, and often skip entire groups. There’s also no ground-level bar, so you have to go upstairs to the Cielo bar for drinks/food. - Bar service: This was particularly frustrating. Only a couple of bartenders seemed experienced; others appeared unable to serve alcohol and redirected guests. Even when seated directly at the bar, it wasn’t uncommon to wait 15–20 minutes without acknowledgment. Drinks were sometimes placed just out of reach, checks delivered without pens, and requests for refills or water were ignored. We also witnessed multiple instances of food or drinks simply never arriving for guests. At no point did staff acknowledge delays or apologize—something that would have gone a long way. - Room service: On our final night, no one answered the phone when we tried to order room service dinner. The front desk told us to call again, then said if no one answers (which apparently isn't uncommon), you have to order at the bar—which meant another round of the same poor bar experience. - Housekeeping: Generally fine, but oddly, we were never given an extra roll of toilet paper. On our final morning, we called for one, waited 45 minutes, then went to the front desk ourselves. We were told they’d send one up… it never arrived. Ending a stay rationing toilet paper is not exactly the note you want to leave on. - Food: Everything we did manage to get was actually very good, just on the pricier side, which is expected given the limited on-site dining options. Bottom line: This property has potential - the rooms are nice, the grounds are attractive, and the food is solid. But the service was consistently and noticeably poor, to the point where it detracted from the entire stay. With better staffing, training, and basic attention to guests, this could be a much stronger experience. As it stands, it’s hard to recommend.

The property and staff were amazing!

The amount of added taxes on top of the resort tax was staggering.

"World class, top notch resort with all the amenities for both activities and relaxation."

10.0

Impeccable service. Magnificent desert views. First class fitness facilities. Close access to Adero Canyon hiking trails. On-site pickleball courts. Tennis court. Nice outdoor swimming pools and lounge and sitting facilities. Outdoor hot tub. Options for self parking or valet parking. Quiet rooms. Immaculate cleanliness throughout the facilities.

N/A. This first class facility and operation simply has no weak points.

"Stay anywhere else"

2.0

I don't know how this place got to be part of the Autograph Collection. We were given Room #12. This room is not part of the main hotel. We paid $600 a night for the most stressful night ever in any hotel. We endured the hum of some motor, either on the roof or the ceiling of our room that ran for 3 minutes, stopped abruptly with a sucking noise for 10 minutes and then ran again for 3 minutes, on and on, all night long. I called Front desk twice. She gave me some story about how she couldn't control it if other guests were running their A/Cs. I told her no. This is some sort of motor running on a timer. She said no one from maintenance was on duty and they didn't have a comparable room to move us to. At 7am I finally went out to the front desk and the manager there admitted to the fact that the whole building we were in was about to be torn down. They knew about the motor, and that in her opinion those rooms shouldn't even be used! Our entire weekend was nothing but a trial as we were functioning on about 90 minutes of sleep thanks to the degree of irresponsibility and greed of the management of this hotel. From now on I question any hotel that is part of Bonvoy, and Autograph Collection means nothing.
