ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection

It was a good choice to stay at the Adero (Scottsdale) when we were out visiting my sister-in-law who lives in Scottsdale. It was a great way to be in nature with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and still be able to be in Scottsdale in 20 minutes. I thought it was a bit pricey but location, location, location. Fountain Hills is a cute town. If you like greek food, Alexanders was fabulous. Breakfast at Georgie’s was great. The food at the Adero is pricey. We ate at Cielo for dinner one time and it was certainly good enough- for us more of a special occasion kind of place. If you eat early, the view from there is incredible. We especially LOVED the morning hot tub and heated pool. Also, the Friday night telescope views of the planets and stars in the dark night sky is not to be missed!

Had a wonderful experience . I was not aware this was a dog friendly hotel. I love dogs, just very allergic. Sophia at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Moving our room, checking with housekeeping, giving us a lovely cocktail and again checking with us the next day to make sure all Was well! She made our stay was filled with joy. 5 stars to Sophia Lesley and Kenneth LeBuda

The location is beautiful and the unit was clean. They offer a nice lemonade beverage when you arrive.

When I arrived there was a young lady sitting on her phone as I waited to check in. Thankfully there was I believe a manager - very nice man dressed in some casual attire who was very kind smiling and asked if I had been helped and when I said no then the young lady finally stood up to help. I do want to give recognition to another front desk support who was a middle aged woman that was super kind and saying jokes that had shown up as well with my check in and helped the young lady who was struggling to check me in.

GYM: Very well equipped and large. Good & many cardio machines. SPA: We each had 1 massage. Pricey but both masseuses were very skilled. VIEWS: Very nice to see the hills and distant town.

ROOM: Cliffside - The rooms are a bit worn out. Our screen door kept coming off the track. Room is poorly decorated, with several blank walls and empty floor space where a comfy reading chair could have been placed. Not very homey. I was told they would be updated in the future. This is sorely needed. We found mold inside lid of ice bucket. Housekeeping cleaned after we showed them and gave us extra waters the next day as an apology.

Parking costs and add ons excessive. Parking should be free and included always. Valet was quoted as free and was not delivered to overnight parking cost addition

Caveat emptor… the ADERO is billed as a resort that caters to relaxation and wellness. Doesn’t quite live up. Not inexpensive, either! Accommodations are not spectacular for a Westin Autograph property. When booking over a holiday such a New Year’s Eve, be aware that the hotel room construction is exposed concrete in the rooms and when there’s a wild and load party going on in the ballroom, you'll hear it, especially if your room is near the event space. The NYE event lasted well past the toast with the army of revelers partying back to their rooms, it lasted much longer than it should have. I am not sure of their wedding or other gala arrangements so be mindful and proactive to request a room far away from the event space, if you want peace and relaxation.

Amazing experience. We used a suite night award and were upgraded to a corner suite, which was extraordinary. The view was so impressive! The staff (front desk, parking, and restaurants) were super friendly and welcoming. They really valued and cared about Marriott premier members.

No sofa or even a comfort chair in the room. No family room.
