HENRI Country House Garmisch-Partenkirchen

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel but are giving it an average score mainly because of the value proposition. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable but not up to date. Handing guests a room key and having to physically lock and unlock your room door and leave the key with the front desk every time you leave the hotel is very inconvenient. We appreciate that they may feel the hotel wishes to retain a 'traditional' feel, but it does not have the charm of a smaller unique Bavarian cottage. It's simply a hotel that is decorated in a dated fashion without modern fixtures. Our stay included the breakfast buffet, which was very disappointing. It is no more than average and could actually be rated as poor. It is very basic with rolls, bread, some spreads, ham, cheese, etc. However, all appeared to have been prepared well in advance and for example, the ham and cheese were set out on boards and very dried out even when we dined at 08:00. The scrambled eggs had been prepared in large quantity, which left them watery and unappealing. If they were to prepare smaller batches and manage them frequently rather than just putting out a big batch at the beginning, they could improve this. In summary, whilst we enjoyed our stay, the price of US$380.00 for two nights puts this in the expensive (for us) category and we simply can't give it more than an 'acceptable' rating in that price category.

The hotel is ideal for families who wants a relaxing trip and it's just a short walk from the station. The bed was cozy and the breakfast was good. The toilet in our room was slightly small, but still has a tub. We chose half board to keep it simple. The menu was surprisingly good the first evening, maybe because it was on a weekday. The second evening was not as special, we could use more time at the sauna (which is only open 3 to 9). The pool has longer opening hours. still the food and ambience is decent compared to many places we visited in Germany. We are quite pleased with our last minute decision to stay at this hotel.

This is a very luxurious hotel. What made my stay memorable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I will stay here again next time I come to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The hotel is close to the train station. The room is clean and comfortable.

There are many pluses to staying here - a great breakfast, robes & slippers, location, neat old hotel with lots of charm and it’s cleanliness. My only complaint were pillows that went flat in seconds even doubled up. If you’re at Garmisch, I highly recommend this hotel

Very good location close to the main shopping area and restaurants. I respected the owner of the hotel being present most of the time giving a hand to his staff .

hotel have different building so not easy to find your way to your room, car park space rather small

I would like to have stayed longer to take advantage of the spa! Room was nice, service was excellent.
