Great location and staff

Bed and pillows could be better

The room was large and clean, breakfast was OK, but we have had better in similar or lesser hotels.

When we checked in (at 15:00) reception could not tell us if the room was ready or not (despite stating when booked that we could check in at 15:00). It took 10 minutes or more for us to be told the room was ready. When using the lift (right hand one) on one occasion, it stopped sharply between the 2nd and 3rd floors and the doors opened onto the inside of the lift shaft. We had to press the button to get the doors closed and for the lift to start again. When this was raised with reception, they stated that this happened occasionally. Surely for a high end hotel, this is something that should be fixed and should not be brushed off casually with guests.

Excellent central location close to Edinburgh Waverley Station and major attractions. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The lifts were very small, and during our stay only two were operational, which resulted in long waits, especially during busy times. Some areas of the hotel also felt a little dated.

A special thank you to Sahar for making my stay so much better. She was always approachable, thoughtful, and genuinely happy to help whenever I needed anything. It's rare to come across someone who makes guests feel so comfortable and valued. Her positive attitude and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Sahar is a real asset to the hotel, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Thank you, Sahar!

Leon was great. The breakfast staff was so friendly. Very good experience.

Staff were friendly and we found the rooms clean and the beds really comfortable. The location was great, really close to the Royal Mile which was handy. The breakfast was delicious!
