Hilton Edinburgh Carlton

Unfortunatly the poor experiance out weighed any good.

My Tea/Coffee hadnt be stocked up. The room was tired with a badly damaged headboard. It was and internal connecting room ( which I wasnt told about) and the noise from the the couple and toddler that screamed till 12pm ruined our stay. I paid as a treat for my older daughters and my mother and had an awful evening.

It is located on the main junction of Edinburgh from a site seeing perspective and everything around it is in walking distance. The tariff charged was GBP 500 per night per room for two twin beds (basically we were 4 adults and 2 children) and stayed in rooms 203 and 205. We stayed from 1st - 3rd May 2026 and few issues need to be highlighted given the pricing of the room. - Lifts in the reception - only 1 was working out of 3 (yes u read it correctly) and it was a huge inconvenience as it was packed especially on the day we were checking out and I had to carry my luggage 2 floors down via stairs. This was not mentioned to us at the time of booking (else would have reconsidered it) and most of the times we were compelled to take the stairs especially after visiting the pubs. - Both the treadmills in the gym were not working. - Breakfast and the access to the executive lounge (where breakfast is served) was nice. - Rooms were spacious and clean. However given the room tariff and the lift inconvenience, Hilton Edinburgh Carlton will not be my top go to destination in Edinburgh. Regards..

There is no drop off area. Our ride share had to drop us off at a corner, across the street. The scaffolding all over the sidewalk makes it nearly impossible to guide two suitcases the half block to entrance. There is no doorman to summon someone to assist with bags. There were no bellhops in evidence the three days I was there. The king bed was hard, the duvet hot, no top sheet for cooler coverage. The shower was low pressure, although hot enough. The day we left to drive around Scotland my husband rented a car at train station, circled around hotel block three time without being able to even double park to load us up, so I ended up dragging, pushing 3 suitcases up hill to corner and most of a block to where he had found a place to pull over. Nice central location, but because its near intersection of a main road intersecting with The royal mile, it’s crazy busy all day. Stay someplace more comfortable a little off main roads.
