It was close to the Royal Mile within steps.

One elevator was shut down so there was long delays. There was construction happening from 12am-5am which prevented me from sleeping. I was comp’d a nights stay. The bed was loose on its frame as well which always felt like it was going to fall apart. But the mattress was comfortable.

Location

We had a large clean room. It had the most comfortable bed of my entire trip. The lighting in the room was perfect,

We had a long walk from our room to the elevator, and one elevator kept stopping a wrong times.

One lift not working. Very slow

Great location, nice modern ascetic for the rooms. Lobby area very stylish on entrance, easy access to the station.

Dirty carpets, water damaged rooms, old spring mattress which sounded like industrial equipment when moving position in bed. The building also had two small elevators one of which wouldn't go to the 5th floor. The elevators caused large queues in the morning as the stated capacity was 10 people, but realistically it was 4 people with bags or 6 people, but then the lifts would miss floors.

One elevator working 81 years old had to use stairs more then half the time otherwise waited 10 to 20 minutes for an elevator.

The room was spacious, comfortable with plenty of room for working as well as sleeping.

Building was surrounded in scaffolding. The bathroom was dated with door panels peeling from the base where they have been wet, cracked tiles in the shower and black mold on most of the tile gratings. Not the quietest place to stay.
