Fantastic place, coming every year.

Exceptional old style hotel with excellent food and the best staff I've ever come across for friendliness and professionalism. Gougane is a magical place, a step back in time to stillness and peace ♥️

Wir hatten uns aufgrund der ansprechenden Website für dieses Hotel entschieden, wurden jedoch vor Ort leider enttäuscht. Die Unterkunft ist zwar sauber, aber insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen – mit einem Ambiente, das nicht dem auf der Website vermittelten Eindruck entspricht. Auch kulinarisch konnten unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt werden: Statt der angekündigten gehobenen Küche erwartete uns eher eine Massenabfertigung mit standardisiertem Angebot. Das Essen war zwar in Ordnung, aber keineswegs besonders oder kreativ. Besonders enttäuschend war das Frühstück – sehr spärlich und einfallslos. Wer Kellogg’s mag, wird hier fündig, doch frische, abwechslungsreiche Optionen sucht man vergeblich. Der Service war zwar freundlich, jedoch wenig aufmerksam. Es wurden wiederholt dieselben Fragen gestellt, was nicht gerade für ein professionelles Gästemanagement spricht. Insgesamt ist das Hotel für Reisende geeignet, die keine grossen Ansprüche stellen – wer jedoch Komfort, Kulinarik und Atmosphäre gemäss Website erwartet, sollte sich nach Alternativen umsehen.

I feel so fortunate that a friend recommended that we visit this magical place. The setting was stunning, the staff and other guests so friendly, and the history of both the hotel and the land were fascinating to learn during our stay. Even after just a single night's stay, we left feeling like we were leaving behind old friends.

It truly felt like we had to tear ourselves away the morning we left! But we were armed with Katy's recommendations for our future travels so that helped ease the pain somewhat ;)

The place was amazing, very nice and warm people around. The food could have been better, even though it looked tempting in the menu, the taste needed improvement.
