"An OK experience in a beautiful setting"

Our room was so hot on arrival we had to leave the door open. We arrived late (11pm) and the heating had been left on full blast. The guests above played loud drumming music in the morning and were very active on their running machine (at least that’s what I told my daughter... causing our door to knock on its frame! The ‘homemade’ pancakes had run out... therefore I am assuming they weren’t not homemade at all. The staff were OK but breakfast was a little ‘take it or leave it’, we had to wait ages for tea and coffee even though it wasn’t busy and there was not much customer care being offered.

This is a wonderful country house hotel that we discovered many years ago and now stay at every year we travel through Kent. Many of the staff have worked there throughout that time which, imo, is a sign of a well run hotel.

"A most awesome stay"

It was a most comfortable room. The toiletries were just what I needed, the complimentary tea and coffee was on point. Loved the full English breakfast, made to perfection, and the black pudding was to die for. Really enjoyed my short stay

"Light on lights"

My stay was excellent, staff very helpful, breakfast excellent (I didn't have an evening meal) . My only complaint was that my room, delightful inside, overlooked the courtyard, which had bright (security?) lights on all night. The room had no curtains, so... Those light should go off c. 10.30pm as they are not necessary, although make the yard look pretty. That would save energy too...

Hotel was nice, could do with a Hoover on stairs etc but rooms were clean. Breakfast was fine but we were given tea instead of coffee- I’m sure if we’d have asked they would have changed it but we didn’t bother. An okay place to stay. I’d return if I was in the area
