"A Nice Place"

8.0

While we only had one night, it went well. Staff were a little standoffish, but otherwise ok. The room was nice, grounds are lovely, and the building itself is charming. Be advised if you arrive late (after 9pm) your food options are quite limited (their 24 hr cold sandwiches only) and a bit overpriced for what you get. Otherwise we recommend this location.

"Very nice hotel and food etc was wonderful"

10.0

The hotel was in a nice area close to ferry port etc ..the place is top notch and everything was to a high standard. The room we were in had very low beams and I think staff could do with checking on guest height as it was difficult to walk about in the room. We ate an excellent meal at night and loved the antique feel of the place, unfortunately only there for 1 night. Will come again when we use the ferry or channel tunnel.

We have just enjoyed a lovely long weekend in Kent. The food was excellent, we were upgraded to a suite of rooms with 2 bathrooms, the gardens and grounds of the hotel are delightful with lake, lambs and daffodils at this time of year. We walked one morning from the hotel along footpaths through woods and fields nearby. Thoroughly refreshing.

"Nice hotel near a lovely village"

8.0

My husband and I have just enjoyed a lovely quiet and restful weekend at this charming hotel. We had a room in 5he Manor over looking the lake. Our bed was very comfortable, the food was excellent, staff friendly and could do more for us. We have booked to return.

Quite a nice hotel but looking a little shabby. I would stay again but for the fact the restaurant was too expensive for my business travel allowance and the bar menu rather limited

"Lovely hotel, very comfortable"

6.0

Really like Chilston, I have known it since the time of the Millers, and have fond memories of some very cheerful Sunday lunches with Judith and Martin. We had our wedding lunch there. My great disappointment this time is the food. I was away for work reasons, and I thought dinner looked a bit grand for someone on their own, especially as the pricing did not allow you to just have two courses. I selected from the lounge menu. The caesar said was a nasty melange of lumps of chicken, a horrid sauce no anchovies; in short it was revolting and presented very badly. In all fairnesss I was not charged but it was very disappointing. I treated myself to a parfait for pudding: it tasted very good but was again badly presented. Hopefully a one off! Judith

"Thoroughly recommended"

10.0

This is a great hotel with superb food and friendly and helpful staff. On arrival, we had been assigned to a room with low beams but, as I'm 6' 4" and in danger of hitting the beams, without us asking we were immediately offered a swap and we moved to a room with no beams. We stayed for three nights and ate in the hotel each night as well as enjoying an afternoon tea. The staff were very accommodating and on one occasion they were happy to upgrade a starter into a main course. The table d'hote menu has good choice and is good value, better value than the ala carte we thought. Breakfast was lovely and the traditional cooked option was always prepared fresh so arrived piping hot. The hotel is in country setting and is well placed for a visit to Leeds Castle.

"100% perfect!! "

10.0

Had a cheeky night away with my husband...picked this hotel as I was drawn to the beautiful staircase, and boy what a hotel. Our room 'Shelly' was absolutely beautiful, the food was to die for...we opted for the £39 3 course meal, and we were not disappointed, empty plates after every course! Have recommended it to all my friends and we shall definetley be returning in the summer.
