"Old school ski resort charm"

10.0

The food and staff were excellent. Loved the ski enthusiast vibe and community feel. The hotel lobby was inviting and comfortable. Hot tub and pool were wonderful after a hard day of skiing. Bar was lively and festive. Shuttles to the slopes were great. Only complaint was how hot our room was. Had to open the window with the heat OFF. I think we were above the kitchen?? Everything else was great so a hot room was TOTALLY worth it. I loved this resort. Definitely will return and recommend to other ski buffs. Love Alra Peruvian !!!!!!

"Great ski lodge, easy access to skiing"

10.0

I took my son on a long weekend to Alta. This place was perfect. The food, three meals a day, was very good. The other guests were very friendly. The staff was extremely helpful and ready to serve. The location works very well. You can easily walk to the Collins lift, or there's is a super prompt and easy shuttle with a very minimal wait (it was almost always waiting for us). The lodge has plenty of fun stuff do do after skiing. The pool was very warm and the hot tubs are great. Alta is not flashy. Don't expect extravagant. But a good, old fashioned time and making real memories, this is the place.

"Old school charm"

10.0

The Peruvian is just a walk across the parking lot or a 200 yard shuttle to the lift. Start your day with a fabulous, hot buffet breakfast and end it with a four course delicious meal. Our last dinner was, among other fare, all the shrimp and king crab legs you could eat. The staff was friendly and catered to your every whim and the fellow skiers you dine with make a pleasureful dinning experience. End your day in one of 2 hot tubs and the heated outdoor pool facing the mountain. The ski lockers, bar, free confections, and old school charming lobby help make the Peruvian the place to stay in Alta.

"True believers enjoy old-time ski lodge"

8.0

Charismatic old-school lodging at base of ski area. The main point of staying here other than to ski (obviously) is to participate in the Alta Peruvian community. The family-style dining for dinner (you eat at a designated time, with others to fill our six- or eight-top table) is a blast - guests tend to be a classy high-achieving crowd with good social skills. Inclusive meals include excellent breakfast and excellent dinner but overly plain lunches (lunch needs more variety, and more frequent replenishment of more recently cooked hot foods at the buffet). Many return visitors. We've stayed (multiple years) in a tiny Nordic room with shared bath down the hall, and the showers and heat in bath need work. Rickety old wood-frame building has very nice lobby for socializing and a great bar. Outdoor hot tubs (and heated pool) with drinks served steps away is always a good time.
