Fort Magruder Historic Williamsburg, Trademark by Wyndham

Do NOT stay here. The property is old, dirty and worn and facilities are not maintained or repaired as they should be. Dirty bathrooms & guest rooms, broken elevators, no fresh towels or maid service during our stay. Breakfast was truly inedible. We passed several open unoccupied guest room doors (and no cleaning or repair service happening) - in fact one person in our party arrived to their room to find the door unlocked and open! Truly, the worst stay at a hotel ever for us.

The location was 7 minutes by car from Water Country USA

We stayed because $200 a night for an “historic” hotel with an amazing breakfast sounded great. BUT it looked nothing like the advertising suggested. It was badly rundown, smelled terrible. The breakfast was not deluxe or special, just typical hotel breakfast. It was a $79 a night hotel at a $200 a night price. My kids wouldn’t even sleep in the sheets because they were afraid it was so dirty. The carpets were stinking and torn, wallpaper peeling, pipes visibly rusting, dirty floors. A total and complete lack of attention to detail by the staff

I enjoyed the pool and whirlpool. It's lovely sitting out on the private balcony from the room. The trees on the property are very mature, and I enjoyed using Google lens to look up the species of trees and plants in the garden. The lobby is beautiful, and there is a cozy reading lounge.

Facilities are old and run down. Had a trash can in hall for leaking ceiling. Carpet tacks showing in transition areas from one surface to another. Pool was nice once in it but there was trash all around the pool deck area and a fake eyelash on the rim of the hot tub. AC in room didn’t really work and it was hot as Hades all night long. All in all place was in rough shape.

Dirty and in disrepair

Bed was clean. Bathroom was clean. Go turn on the air in the room early. Breakfast was good and lasted till 10. Meeting rooms were spacious and clean, though maybe a bit hot. No restaurant for lunch or dinner. Close to all Williamsburg historic sites.

The front office staff were most helpful and pleasant in providing directions inside and outside of the Hotel. The Hotel is in an historic area--lots to visit and see--a beautiful, rural feel. The Hotel food was exceptional; free breakfast also. Lots of stores nearby, too.
