Fort Magruder Historic Williamsburg, Trademark by Wyndham

The room is dated and in need of an upgrade. I know it has that historical charm. But if the lobby is updated then so can the rooms be.

Location is great. Staff was good. There could be more attention.

Cleanliness. The entire time we were there no maid or other housekeeping staff came to clean even down our hallway. Maintenance. On our first night I called in and issue with smoke/fire alarm and microwave. I asked it not be taken care of until the next day. The next day, nothing was done. I had to go to the desk and remind them because no one answered the phone the night before when i called.

The room was okay but needs updating. Stayed here six years ago for two weeks and updates were in progress then. Thought it would’ve been done by now. It served the purpose but wasn’t thrilled with the overall condition. I used the gym and several of the lighter weight dumbbells were missing. It wasn’t clean and there wasn’t any water available in the gym.

The breakfast doesn’t offer enough food choices. It could use more thorough cleaning. The tub was stained and looked nasty. I was looking forward to soaking in a tub. Didn’t happen. Staff is difficult to locate.

This place is older but very well kept up. The furnishings and decorations were very elegant and historical. There is a huge lobby with a giant fireplace and comfortable, cozy seating. There are fire pits outside. The landscaping is beautiful and well kept. The room was super comfortable with a very comfortable bed and bedding. I will definitely stay here again.

We always stay here. It has been the best place to stay in Williamsburg. The staff are always nice and the room is clean. Highly recommend anyone who needs a place to stay.

The rooms need remodeling/updated. There were stains on the carpet, one looked like plastic melted on carpet. The Shower/tub had mold or rust around the fixture. Headboard loose. No lighting in some areas of corridors & stairwell. Dim lighting around the hotel but little to none in the parking lot which made us uneasy walking from car to lobby. Breakfast was average.The hotel is large, grounds are nice but needs after winter maintenance. Nice sitting areas outside. Bar/lounge was closed for maintenance. Gentleman at front desk was friendly & pleasant. Some updates & remodeling will make this a great hotel.
