No 1 by GuestHouse, York

Myself and I stayed at No.1 as part of a weekend get away for our anniversary. From the moment arriving to the second we left, I was blown away by our exceptional stay. A particular mention must go to the brilliant staff who all go out of their way to make the stay feel special. The hotels room are of a high standard and clean, with everything you need for a few nights away. I won’t go over the other nice touches mentioned in other reviews but the pantry is a great touch. The location is excellent for a quick walk in and out of the City centre and parking was easy and convenient at the hotel.

Lovely one night stay for the bank holiday. Gorgeous building. We booked a room that included a little tippee tent for our daughter and it was perfect. Toys inside for her to play with. She loved it. Even a baby size bath robe. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We didn’t pre book parking and the car park was full but there is a public car park only a short walk from the hotel. I enjoyed a spa treatment before we explored York. A great option for a boutique stay.

Loved the unique style of the hotel. All the well thought touches. The bed was so comfortable, air-conditioning in the room was a bonus. The breakfast was amazing.

Room was very cold. Even once we'd worked out heating controls it didn't seem to warm up at all. There didn't seem to be any way to put heated towel rail on so bathroom was cold. Never seemed to be anyone around to ask. Had the worst cup of coffee ever in the bar - undrinkable. It wasn't much better at breakfast. Cost £50 to park in the hotel. Hotel was style over substance - record player, dolls house, violins instead of concentrating on customers' comforts.
