Location just off M6 and in beautiful grounds. The food is first class and just the right proportions. Despite a few gripes, this is a lovely hotel, but definitely geared more for weddings

Music too loud at breakfast and massive, hot duvet - but of course some people like the heating on all the time! The car chargers are Pod Point that not everyone uses and no opportunity to pay by card.

"A real treat and retreat. A lovely area to stay in and the staff were fantastic."

Everything! The grounds were so lovely. We did alot of walking to discover the canal at the rear. Loved the pond at the front with all the ducks and swans.

There was nothing to dislike!

"Brilliant location, shame about the rest"

6.0

A brilliant location adjacent to the Stafford canal and a large lake with nesting swans. The view was special watching the sun set from the restaurant over the canal and the fields to the M6 with thousands of cars and lorries rushing up and down; seen but not heard. So far so good, and onto the food, well the wine was good. If you see truffle on the menu as the first ingredient you expect to be able to tase it and the meat course is not meant to give your jaw a big workout. For a two rosette restaurant we were disappointed. The superior room was like a lot of business hotel rooms and all functional. Unfortunately you could hear and feel the springs in the mattress so not such a good sleep. Breakfast was in the restaurant and most tables were piled with dirty dishes and not cleared. When we were eventually served it was all good. The hotel fills up in the morning with business people and the big car park went from nearly empty to full. Overall a great location but not for us.

Location was great good parking great. Staff

Possibly if we could have had some tee or coffee on the self service along with some bread and butter rather than having to order it

"Great place to stay, great location for visiting the area."

9.0

The hotel is beautiful from every angle. Our room was spotless, and had a very comfy bed. Well kept gardens, outside seating, by the canal. Swans roam freely in the gardens and lake. It helped that the weather was great. Great place to stay.

Can't think of a single thing. If this hotel is not perfect, then I would like to see the one that is.
