The Ritz Cape Town

The hotel itself is good, will stay there again, except that we can hear the people in the room next to us talking. They were like chatting threw the night. The buffet dinner was bad, except for the salad. The breakfast on the other hand was excellent. The bar service and hotel personel is great and friendly.

dirty rooms, many children, a lot of noise. do not go there.

Asked for a smoking room and was only given one once maintenance found out they could not repair the broken toilet. There is no gym facility in the hotel and the cleanliness was not up to standard. Staff seemed nice and friendly but as have mentioned we only got the room we specified after maintenance could not repair the toilet. and that took some time as well

Good located but need to update... It really shows its ages.

It was good, especially the break fast and the cleaning of the room. I asked for another room but the staff on duty did not give it to me. The revolving roof top restaurant was a fantastic experience.

We booked the hotel for its location but there are so many other hotels in the surrounding areas that this is not worth staying at. The facilities that I believe would give it its star rating were very poor or non existent. Breakfast which is included in the price, is in fact not. There was no one in the dining hall in the morning. No food was prepared (that full english breakfast that was so enticing) and they didn't even put out cereals. Another customer at the hotel asked for a cash voucher or discount on his room to go and eat breakfast somewhere else and they would not give him one. While this was a leisure trip, I also went to some business meetings and when the hairdryer in the room is broken, it certainly starts your mood for the day in the wrong way. We found a cockroach in our bath... I don't need to say any more on that. The linen on our bed was clean and the room was vacuumed every day. The air conditioner did not work and there really is not much more to say because we left really early in the morning and only slept in the hotel. I did enquire about the shuttle service that they also 'offer' and was told that I should call a taxi - they didn't even offer to call one for me. I would honestly rate this as a 1 star hotel(and I am being very generous) and if you book here - YOU ARE DEFINATELY PAYING TOO MUCH!!!!

It was pleasant but the hotel is not what I expected;below expectation. This is especially with rooms. Mot of the appliances were outdated , torn and very old. It has a nice view though

The hotel is a little tired looking. Room is o.k. but we had to ask for Tea and coffee and also shower gel etc. they did not put it in the room. Only 1 teabag was there. The vent for the fan in the bathroom was filthy, The staff were not very friendly. The breakfast was terrible. !! It does have a lovely view from the bar but I would not stay there again.!!

The Ritz is in a great location, but needs a MAJOR update. It is stuck in the early 1990's... Great views from the rooms and staff was friendly. The bathroom needed a VERY deep cleaning. Internet should be provided in the price as the hotel targets many business professionals wanting to stay closer to the seaboard. It got VERY expensive buying internet cards from the front desk. Do a cosmetic update.... people like me would stay again and pay a bit more if you did!

Hotel in good location fairly safe although we did not go out very late Some good pubs and restaurants nearby. Also close to the sea and within walking distance of VA Waterfront and but stop for hop on hop off bus which is worth a trip, Hotel also organizes various tours. Only slight niggle was there was not much in the way of shower gel or soap also shower was quite old and seemed to have a mind of it's own . However the breakfast was excellent. Would probably consider going back there if i am ever in Capetown again.
