Room was good, but checking in was a nightmare on their electronic checking in system, very impersonal, was given no information on what the hotel had to offer as a guest, just a member of staff to hand out room keys. The bar personnel were great but the modern seating booths were out of place, trying to hard to be up-to date.

Close to M1 but not too close to hear the motorway. Clean room, good shower and quiet at night. Expensive breakfast. Didn't like being approached by the refugee's staying at the hotel for money and cigarettes at the entrance.

Many of the staff were very grumpy and did not say hello. Check in wasn't pleasant, dinner service and food was very poor and spoke to a lovely lady on check out. Car park - lots of spaces!

"Hotels.com ‘FCUKED UP’"

6.0

Booked a double but hotel said was full when arriving and could only offer me the twin. On arrival the hotel rate was shown as £58.30. Whereas I was paying £71 with Hotels.com ( who listed me as a “ special rate???”) One of the beds was against a wall which you hit in middle of night No kettle in room so missed my morning cup of tea. Toiletries consisted of two tubes of conditioner??

"Pleasant hotel, but not well suited for disabled."

8.0

Meeting up with friends for a 2 night jaunt in the area, we found the hotel to be clean, friendly and comfortable. There were, however, 3 negatives - although I don't think the hotel is in a position to do anything about the first 2. The first is the parking, which has to be paid for: currently only £3 per 18 hours, but it's the principle of the thing. The car park isn't owned by the hotel. They could also do with more than 2 disabled badge places near to the entrance and on the flat. Other disabled spaces mean a walk around the 'island' in front of the hotel, or getting up a number of steps. The second negative is also about disability access. As someone in the party has mobility problems, I asked for a room as close as possible to reception and an accessible shower (no bath). On arrival, we found that the shower was good and almost flat but the handrails I had been told about turned out to be a thin wonky towel rail that was falling off the wall ! The room itself was right at the bottom of a quite long corridor and not near reception. On asking about this, we were told that the hotel only has 1 fully 'disabled' room, which is currently used by a long-term let customer. Why the only rooms with good disabled showers are so far away I'm not sure. Our friends were closer to reception but had a bath/shower. I think they've got this the wrong way around. Thirdly, the breakfast was adequate - just; not much choice and not particularly well cooked. We've had a lot better.
