This place should never have the Best Western Plus badge. I have stayed in many Best Western hotels and this one was sketchy at best. The "guests" inside appeared to be in rehab and totally unable to take care of themselves. The room was dirty, no ice machine and the breakfast was the worst ever. You could not serve yourself and had people behind a table handing you what you wanted.
We initially had an issue with our room and went to front desk. The staff were super friendly and Evan the manager immediately gave us another room. He directed us to the restaurant across their parking lot, Moonstones, which had amazing food and very attentive and friendly staff. Came back to our new room and pleasantly discovered Evan had upgraded our room, which was so kind and unexpected. We got settled in to watch the election and discovered we couldn’t get channels. Called down and front desk woman was able to get it working and gave us an extra unexpected discount. The cafeteria lady was also very friendly and greeted everyone with a huge welcome and smile. The rooms do need some attention to repairs but nothing major and that isn’t the staff’s fault that is the corporation, but we could see some updates are in the beginning stages. It’s so important for staff to go the extra mile, especially if they don’t have the resources. As I’ve always taught my medical students, bedside manner can most often prevent a lawsuit with just simple kindness. Thank you Best Western for having the good sense to hire these three employees, they made our stay the best we’ve had in a while.
Wish I had read the other reviews first as this is more of a homeless shelter than a hotel. As a result, they had to close off the breakfast room so instead of making hot, fresh waffles, they hand you a baggie with cold pancakes to microwave. The breakfast crowd was scary and I didn’t feel safe in this hotel or parking lot. This wasn’t an inexpensive hotel, either, so I recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Why doesn’t someone make an app to let you know what’s going on so travelers can make informed decisions?
Super friendly, hospitable and extremely comfortable bed!
My room was nice very clean. Love the balcony, beautiful view really.everyone was helpful and caring.would stay again for sure
Not worth the stay. Overpriced and outdated while being in a tough location. They house houseless people in the hotel which is commendable, however the smell and noise along with general crowd in hotel and parking lot did not lend to a comfortable stay.
This hotel is a homeless shelter. Hotel staffed masked up. Can't help yourself to breakfast as the breakfast room is blocked off and there was one option which was handed to us. Our room was clean but no hairdryer. Outdoor seating is negligible and the lounge chairs were worn and torn. There is security on property. This is not what was expected from the Best Western Plus hotel...a brand my husband and I have used for many years.
I should have read the reviews closer. This hotel is being used as a homeless shelter. It's more of a flop house than a hotel. I don’t want to sort sound as if I am unsympathetic to the plight of the homeless in America. But when I stay at a hotel with an identifiable brand, I expect the hotel to provide a fairly common hotel experience. This was not the case. Security patrolled the premises, many ‘guests’ appeared to be ‘street people’, breakfast (which I avoided) resembled a nursing home filled with a Medicaid clientele, and ‘guests’ often congregated in front of the hotel or in the parking lot for long periods of time smoking cigarettes. The hotel showed the effects of long-term use as a homeless shelter. The carpets in the hotel were filthy and the building in general showed the effects of long-term neglect.
Walls are very thin
Not as clean as I would like. Had the amenities they published. Wish I knew that they house a significant of homeless. Not a problem as such but to enter the building you have to go through the group of smokers. Since I don't smoke it does smell.
