Quality Inn & Suites Houghton Downtown

We didnt get to stay , tried to cancel 5 months before arrival and they wouldn't do it. So we just kept it. They had plenty of time to rebook that room.

Great Location in the heart of downtown. Our sweet had a view of the river. Friendly staff. I needed to FEDEX a package to the location and they had it ready for me when I arrived.

Liked that the hotel was downtown & near shops and dining areas.

The rooms were clean and looked nice. The beds were comfortable. The walls are so thin we could hear every word the neighbors said, we could clearly hear people talking in the hall, we were right across from an entrance and got to listen to the outside door slam. There was hardly any water pressure. We went down to breakfast between 8:30 and 9:00 and there was no coffee, no hard boiled eggs and no hot food for more than 15 minutes. The breakfast attendant was working her but off. It was move-in days at MTU, they had to know that and should have been better prepared. If at all possible I probably won't stay here again.

Location is excellent. Breakfast wad good, more selection than expected for a continental breakfast. Building is old and shows wear. Some rooms are accessible only by creaky stairs.

Mattresses were worn out. Ask for extra pillows, all they could give me is another blanket. Scrambled eggs looked green.

This hotel looks nice on the outside and in the lobby, but the actual rooms hallways and pool area needs some serious updating. Other than that everything was fine.

Great experience, looking forward to staying here every time I am in town
