"Nice hotel but not for us."

6.0

I have just returned from a weeks stay at The Sol Falco. Before I write what didn’t go so well, I think it’s only fair to write the positives. The hotel is clean and tidy the grounds are beautiful with lots of greenery. The only restaurant in the hotel is buffet style with a variety of options, the hotel staff are very friendly. Our first room before we moved was clean, we were sharing with our two daughters (13&5) however, I wasn’t prepared to pay an extra 500€ to upgrade. We were initially put in a connecting room with next door’s family having a young child, which woke us all up all hours of the night, we were subsequently moved after day 2, second room was a lot better and quieter as there was no connecting door. Whilst I understand families with young children are placed on the ground floor, I fail to understand how placing to unknown families in a connecting room is acceptable - they won’t want to hear us as we certainly don’t want to hear them and their screaming children, this was not an enjoyable start to the holiday. There’s filtered water around the hotel however this tasted awful and very chlorine like so we just bought bottled water from the store a short distance from the hotel. I personally feel the alcoholic drinks are watered down, I can’t comment on the premium drinks but certainly the non branded. Drinks are placed in plastic cups including wine.. expect at dinner where you can have a glass. I know people complain about the token system however I understand the concept and wasn’t the biggest issue. If you want to secure a sunbed make sure to get up early otherwise you’ll luck out. A lot of the entertainment and animation was in Spanish so we felt excluded from that - we did spend a few evening away from the hotel and went to the marina which has lots of lovely restaurants and lovely views. The hotel is nice for the reasons mentioned above and the female receptionist did deal with our initial complaint very well however unfortunately this wasn’t the hotel for us.

"Sol Falco June/July 2025"

6.0

I went to Sal Falco with my family at the end of June 2025 into July. Overall it wasn’t bad but there was a number of things which caused frustration. The positive things were the food was nice, good variety and there was plenty of it, there was always room somewhere in the restaurant. The snack bar at lunch was also nice and always stocked. The kids also loved the pool (I’ll come back to this) and the room was acceptable and clean with good air con. The grounds are lovely and green with lots of flowers. The staff clearly work hard and care about the guests to service them and keep the complex clean. Things which we found frustrating are below: 1) the water which comes out of the taps in the restaurant tasted like pool water, if it’s treated or filtered I’m not sure, but it wasn’t nice. This is also the only water available so we had to buy big bottles from a nearby shop. 2) the token system for your drinks is a good green idea but annoying. You exchange the token for a plastic cup which almost becomes your new child for the week, as you have to look after the cup and exchange back for your token when you don’t want another drink. It’s just another thing to remember and not ideal. 3) if you have children who can’t swim, beware the slides are entered from the kids pool which is shallow for toddlers, but the steps lead directly to the slides…which end in the deep end of the adults pool. Bad design here so be careful. There are lifeguards but I didn’t always see one on duty. 4) don’t wear anything white in the pool, it will turn yellow. Sun cream perhaps or pool chemicals. Not sure. 5) we had to move room due to noise from another room next to us, the walls are paper thin. 6) the entertainment wasn’t great, most of it was in Spanish meaning anyone else couldn’t really follow what was going on. 7) There is only one bar for the whole complex. If you choose to spend the day at a pool which isn’t the main pool and you want a drink, you will have to walk to the bar which will take some time. The bar also gets busy with only a small number of staff. Like I said, overall it was good but i wouldn’t say I was completely relaxed for the reasons above.

"Fun week away with teenage kids"

10.0

I was a bit concerned about the mixed reviews but we went ahead and booked (myself, my sister and 4 older teens post GCSE/A levels) because the price was really good for all inclusive, compared to other places own the resort which were just B&B. It's a fraction of the price of a 5 star all inclusive with multiple restaurants, and I think that should be remembered when reviewing. For teenagers to have drinks and food whenever they wanted saved me a fortune! I'll try and summarise... - We had no problems getting sunbeds by the 'olympic' (25m) pool away from the kids area. the pool area was clean and tidy and beds comfy. - The entertainment programme was great and my teens loved getting involved with aqua fit, pool dance etc and watching the evening shows. It was a lot of fun without being too loud. - The token system for drinks was GREAT. It saves waste and stops people just going to the bar and ordering as many drinks as they like, then leaving cups lying round all over the place. You take your cup back, you get a fresh one with a new drink, simple. I don't understand why people complain about the system, and the bar at the buffet does serve drinks in proper glasses (serving glass by the pool would be dangerous). - Cleaner came every day and made the beds etc. We could change pool towels every 3 days but didn't bother as we could easily dry them on the balcony. It's so wasteful when hotels allow people to take as many pool towels as they like each day then just leave them lying around of someone else to clear away. Shower was strong and the AC worked well enough (and they don'r make it go off when you leave your room). - We paid for an 'extra' room so had access to the nicer wine and bottled water which was great. However, we were also very happy with the drinks option outside of that, and the bar was very efficient even though there was only one. We never waited for long. - Breakfast and lunch buffet gave us what we needed and the decor/furniture was really nice (lovely outside area at the back for brekkie). Considering the amount of children there, it was really tidy and staff were cleaning tables all the time. not a great queuing system and kids had their fingers in the sweets but that's an issue with the parents not the hotel. The lunchtime KFC style chicken was so good!! - We had already decided we didn't want to do buffet dinners so ate out at the marina and the few restaurants down at the beach. Given how good the price for the hotel was, we didn't mind doing this. The beach is a few mins walk and is absolutely gorgeous. The marina is quite buzzy and is only a 10 min walk. - The grounds were lovely and there were plenty of quiet places to be by a pool if desired. However, even the main bar area never felt over crowded and noisy - it was just the right level and actually I found all the families with toddlers etc were considerate and didn't allow children to be running around everywhere. There was a nice mix of older people too. All in all, we had a great time, we didn't expect top end luxury as we hadn't paid those prices and really enjoyed the experience (actually more than I have enjoyed a 5 star in the Caribbean!). If you support a place that doesn't want to be wasteful, doesn't want cups all over the place, and you don't expect a clean towel every 5 mins then you'll be very happy with how it works. My only one piece of feedback for the buffet - some hand sanitiser stations for when you have touched all the serving cutlery etc.

"Not a four star hotel! Lacking on various bits"

6.0

We have just got back after a 10 night stay. The hotel is alot bigger than the photos show and is like a town. The hotel itself is lovely, nice refurbishment in all areas. The outdoor area is well kept. The staff in the only were all lovely apart from some of the reception staff which were abit grumpy. The cleaner who cleaned our room was really lovely and did an amazing job who cleans Aldea 204. Pool area Lots of pools to chose from, the issue is when we went the hotel was very full and literally never any spare sunbeds. We had an issue one day because alot of people use the hotel beach towels ( all the same towels) and some foreign people took ours and had an argument with me. The entertainment staff came over and tried blaming us and said "let's not get angry over a towel" after the foreign man snatched and shouted at me. Bar The token system is very annoying, we had to ask for more tokens from reception as we misplaced them. Then you get every single drink in a plastic cup (including wine) which I think some drinks should be in a nice glass. The cocktails were really lovely just a shame they weren't in a nice glass! Snack bar Poor choice of food for the British people alot of batter vegetables and leftovers from breakfast. Restaurant There is one restaurant in the hotel , lovely decor. The restaurant is extremely busy, there was lots of nationalities when we were there with no manors, everyone was all over the place pushing in for food, not lining up. The hardworking staff were run off their feet because it was that busy, not being able to clean the tables quick enough. Also not very good for people with allergens as lots of the food labels were from the meals before, also people putting food into over food and cross contaminating the food. There was a couple of themed nights, Mexican and Chinese food which were the best nights, others were very repetitive. We ate out a few of the nights as we got bored of the food. The deserts were very repetitive too. There is not much choice for children either unless it's pasta, chips or pizza. The breakfasts were nice, lots of food to chose from, the pastries were my favourite. Children's club This was the highlight, my daughter had a lovely time at the seeds children's club. The staff looked after her really well. They work really hard and need some praisement for that. Entertainment We went to the mini disco a few times while we were there which we really enjoyed. We never actually stayed up for the later entertainment as it was too late for my 1 and half year old but it looked good. Overall The hotel has lots of potential, I think there's just a few things they could work on. I think also it ruined it for us abit as I didn't realise how big the hotel was and how busy it would be. If we went and it was quieter it would've been a must better experience.

"Good if you're Spanish "

6.0

OK this is a beautiful looking hotel and the lay out is fantastic so many place's to eat and drink, we stayed at Rancho and had no problems with the room ,good size for the 2 of us and fridge but no kettle, cleaned ever day ,we had a small pool with sunbeds really nice. FOOD Great if you like your food pink, most not cooked properly, even the chief when asked for well done cooked gave the meat a extra 10 seconds, luckily one of them liked the same music as me and as if by magic I got the meat well done. Thre choices we amazing loads of meat every day yeah a bit repetitive but Carn complain, very nice omelets at breakfast, super choices of chilled drinks, lovely outside courtyard to eat. STAFF Brilliant apart from the bar staff, you went to the bar and queued then some of the Spanish guests went to the front and got seved, do they not have to que . Number of people in the que shouted out but no took notice, and slightly grumpy to us bits, I spoke with a number of people who commented on this . TOKENS Sorry but this not a good idea, when u arrive first check in you receive TOKENS depends on how many is in your party, when you go to the bar give the token over to the bar staff and you get two plastic cup's full of what u asked for, then if u carry on drinking repeat the process then when you don't want anymore drinks take your cup's back and u are given tokens back. Then in the day sat around the pool you need a drink travel to the bar no forgetting your tokens and get a drink when u have finished u have a choices do I take the cup's back and get your tokens or take the cup's back to the room and then take them out with you in the evening, what a load of rubbish, sorry to go on but this is a holiday. KIDS CLUB was really shocked after hearing some British guests complaining about sending their kid's to the club and they left because the entertainment team only spoke in Spanish, not good for kids from other nations as well. OVERALL Feel a bit annoyed because it's a really lovely looking hotel let down by a number of issues and this is not just me it was quite a few other British guests said the same.

"Not a 4 star Hotel"

6.0

We booked this holiday as a family to celebrate a family birthday. We booked almost a year in advance so we were thoroughly looking forward to it. The hotel is rated as a 4 star, it is far from a 4 star and definitely missing a little luxury. The bedrooms are basic, very basic. They are clean. The pools are extremely deep and this is not clear when booking. All swimming pools are around 1.9m depth minus the splash park and kids small pool. Around the pool area is not well maintained and often litter blowing around. There are seagulls often swooping to get food they can grab. One of the days we were at the pool a little boy came out of the pool and was sick at the side. This wasn’t cleared immediately as you would expect, instead a few cones were placed around it. We complained later at reception as this had been sitting for some time. The food in the restaurant is repetitive, bland and boring. One of my daughters has dairy allergies. There are signs informing you to speak to staff of allergies. I communicated in English and little Spanish however, after asking 3 members of staff I left and had to speak to a jet 2 rep. The rep then helped source items. We are out a number of times during our 10 days as the food choice was so poor. The entertainment team at this hotel are a credit to the hotel, they are constant and full of energy! Unlike the hotel bar and reception staff who were often grumpy and unhelpful. This is the first hotel I have stayed in that uses a reusable cup return system. Great for around the pool. Not for sitting after dinner with a glass of wine in a plastic cup. I totally agree the reusable plastic glasses have a purpose during the day. But please, please for a 4 star resort, give people a glass to drink out of at night!!! 2 out of our 3 rooms constantly had issues where the keys would stop working, they would have to walk back to reception to get them sorted before returning back to their room. This happened on numerous occasions. They were constantly advised it was due to the card sitting on a phone, they made every effort to keep phones and keys separate and it still happened. We think this is a hotel issue, not our issue. The staff were always fast to point out it was our issue even when one person had the key and another had the phones. We had a great time on our holiday as we made the best of what was in front of us however, it could have been much better if the standards of the hotel and staff were improved.

"Lovely holiday destination"

10.0

Myself, partner and 3 year old son came to Sol FALCÓ beginning of June 2025 along with my parents for a week all inclusive. The holiday resort was beautiful and clean it really did exceed our expectations. Bar and waiting staff were efficient and the entertainment team really were excellent. They had a fabulous energy and were great with the children. They always seemed to be working so hard with a big smile on their faces. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable ( even the pull out bed ). Just be aware that the shower gets very slippy my son became nervous of showering as he almost fell. plenty of swimming pools to choose from and lots of chill areas throughout the hotel. Food was as you’d expect with an all inclusive you will always find something you like. Plenty of options for children! The only con I found was the snack bar which was open when the restaurant wasn’t, in the AM it was breakfast type items eggs ect which would go cold really quick and in the PM burgers, chips, pizzas which again were just cold. I would have liked more cold options with a snack bar such as sandwiches, bagels that kind of thing as you have plenty of hot options at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Evening entertainment was great, the one night they had a party on the terrace which was brilliant with live music, Saxophone player and acrobatic performances a really great atmosphere. Location of accommodation was great just a 10min walk to the harbour and a beautiful beach with plenty of shops in the surrounding area. I would definitely return to sol falco. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

"Air conditioning issue"

6.0

I visited this hotel on June 6th for 7 nights with My partner, my two children (2.5 years and 7 months) and we stayed in a bottom floor family room. The room was basic but clean and maids changed towels and bedding most days. The hotel itself was spotless, the pools always clean and nice temperature. The food was not bad, however we found most of it lukewarm and regularly had to use the microwave in the restaurant to heat our meals before eating. Quite repetitive choices but it did the job. Entertainment was ok, but quite late considering it’s a family hotel. The reason for 3 stars is purely down to the air conditioning, (or lack of) and the attitude of some reception staff. We arrived late on a Friday night, realised the rooms air conditioning wasn’t working and decided to address in the morning. We went up the following morning and was told, it was broke and they were waiting for an engineer. 2 days later and multiple trips to reception we were told it was being turned on that day, apologies were made but we were just happy that we didn’t have to suffer with it being 26/27 degrees in our room, at night, with 2 small children really struggling to sleep in it. That night around 5pm an engineer came to our room, held his hand up to our vents and immediately left saying “I’ll come back” … he never returned. That night at 11pm my partner went to reception and said it was unbearable, which it was! 4 humans in a small room, no ventilation (our balcony area opened straight up to a deep pool and our front door was on a main walkway so there was no chance of us leaving doors open to try and get some fresh air) they promised that tomorrow there would be air con and offered us a new room if we wanted. 11pm was too late to be packing everything up and moving plus it made no sense if the air con in the building was broke? The next day we went to reception AGAIN (quite possibly the 10th/11th time asking for something to be done) and we were rudely told that on the terms and conditions it states that the air conditioning DOES NOT get turned on until June 15th and I should have booked a different hotel if I wasn’t happy. 🙃 We were again offered a new room, which confused me because if the air con wasn’t on, then how would we benefit from a new room?? Plus why were we told it was broke and being fixed? Anyway we were now 5 days into our stay and were leaving in 2 days. I asked reception if there was a fan we could have and was promised a fan would be located and would be waiting at reception for me in a few hours. That night I went to reception and lo and behold… no fan! No recollection of the conversation, and no help or concern for the conditions that my children were having to try and sleep in. On our last full day, we came back to the room at 10pm to a tall fan in our room and it helped ALOT!! It was just a shame we couldnt have had this given to us at the very beginning (we would have happily paid for one should we have been told the truth about the aircon from day one) when I asked why we weren’t offered one at the beginning I was told they only had 15 fans in the whole hotel and we had to wait like everyone else. No thought going out to the 100’s of guests in the hotel who have paid £1000’s to stay at this hotel, with small children, in a heatwave. We came home and checked our terms and conditions and in the very small print it stated the air con doesn’t go on until June 15th. In my opinion, as a family orientated hotel, this should be at the top, in bold writing, to make sure families can make the right decisions for their holiday knowing the full information. You shouldn’t have to trail through small print to find a pretty vital piece of information that could change your whole experience. We would have maybe gone a week later OR chose a different hotel if we had been made fully aware of this air con date! 2 of the female staff on reception were trying hard to be helpful however there was one male receptionist who quite frankly had zero empathy and was god damn rude. He acted like I was putting him out by asking for some answers after being lied to for the whole week about the air con ‘being fixed’ Honestly if we had had a better experience with the air conditioning and the communication regarding it, this would have been a 4/5 star review for sure!

"Passable"

5.0

We liked the location, kid programs ,pools

The room didn't have coffee ,tea, or kettle in it. We could have paid for having a kettle in our room. We had to pay for a safety box which is insane. Staff did not accommodate the late check out request and there wasn't any information given about available services. Food wasn't great ,no proper selections for children.
