Champneys Mottram Hall

Had a great stay. Highlight was the great service from Diego and Rodrigo in Barneys Clubhouse bar. They were very helpful, entertaining and welcoming. Would definitely visit again, extremely good value.

It’s all about the staff and Rodrigo Diego is typifies this perfectly. Super friendly, super chipper and so customer focused. It is so refreshing to see this.

I’d like to give a huge thanks to Brendan on reception today (11th June) I was originally meeting a client in the clubhouse fora catch up, however it was being used privately by Man City for their golf event. I then tried the spa opposite, who suggested I go to reception if I wanted a decent coffee and nice room. Unfortunately I then had to walk outside in the pouring rain to get to reception, so you can imagine my patience at this point was being tested. Thankfully, a charming young chap called Brendan offered me a couple of suggestions where I could hold my meeting. He also took the trouble to personally get us some fresh coffee and ensure we were well looked after. I would like to thank Brendan personally for his efforts and he is a credit to the hotel

Food was very good although expensive.

Accessible rooms had Baths in so still not able to use.

Mottram Hall is a great venue, well organised, with great facilities, (spa, walks, restaurant) in a glorious grounds and setting. Accomodation is comfortable and well presented. Food was excellent. It feels relaxed and peaceful and all the staff were welcoming, pleasant and professional. I could make special mention of several staff, but Brendan on the main reception was really helpful addressing an issue I encountered. Hecarefully assisted to resolve the issue and checked later to ensure everything remained resolved and to my satisfaction. Great service in a friendly, professional way. Overall a very enjoyable visit and a good experience.

The bed was comfy.

The standard room allocated to us was very tired and needed an upgrade - not like the photos on the website. The room 382 had no view - just looked over the plant and extraction units on the roof next to us. No aircon, bottled water and no coffee machine which I would have expected in a 4 star hotel although there was a kettle and packets of coffee/tea and a fan in the wardrobe. As it was quite warm, we had to open the window but got the noise from the plant on the roof which wasn't ideal. There was no hot water as the immersion switch hadn't been switched on which we didn't discover until we showered. We decided not to eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. We did relay our feedback to the reception staff (who were very helpful) on departure and we were told the manager would be contacting us but we are still waiting for the call.

Very pleasant meal in the restaurant. My front of house person Henrietta was excellent. Great work, thank you!
