"First time staying. Will definitely be my last."

Not much.

Room service experience - it was nearly two hours between placing my first (of perhaps 20) call and receiving food. To use the gym is a 20GBP charge. Breakfast is another 15GBP. Ends up being not especially expensive for a budget hotel experience. There was also mould in the shower, the room smelled and the ironing board collapsed on my food because it was so old. Pretty rubbish top to bottom to be honest - avoid.

The grounds are stunning

The rooms are incredibly dated. Initially we were put in a basement room that was disgustingly, it was so dark and the paint was all scratched. We did get moved but it was quite noisy and it was incredibly hot.

The bed & the pillows There was an abundance of electrical sockets The bathroom lighting was good The over the bath shower screen didn't leak !

Breakfast! There was no safe in the room/no fridge & no hotel/spa information or contact nos The overhead lighting wasn't great There was no make- up mirror in the bathroom

Amazing location and atmosphere

Uncomfortable bed. Instead of one double bed they gave us two joint single beds. Very uncomfortable sleep. No detail kit provided.

"Relaxing overnight stay"

My second time with a friend at Champneys, Mottram Hall Spa. Lovely experience but particularly want to comment on the food and service in the restaurants. Particular mention for Thomas who we remembered from last year. Professional and friendly. We were glad to hear he's been promoted. He deserves it!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Mottram Hall, thanks in large part to Rodrigo. He was incredibly polite, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive. Excellent service!
