Royal Canadian Lodge

The hotel was perfect. Beautiful room and the fireplace was an added bonus. The Evergreen, the hotel’s restaurant, had great specia every night and the food was awesome!

Nothing to do with the hotel but people don’t park properly while checking in and the traffic was backed up down Banff Avenue. The “check-in parking” is clearly marked but when people think they are above following direction, it causes chaos for others.

Will not come back anymore, thanks to the horrible checkout experience made possible by none other than Bogdan. He was extremely rude, unpleasant, and unprofessional. We parked our car in front of the hotel for checkout so we could easily load our belongings. We made sure there was enough space for other vehicles to pass, and we have multiple photos to prove it. However, another guest who was checking in parked irresponsibly behind us and completely blocked the driveway. Then came Bogdan, yelling repeatedly that we needed to leave because, according to him, we were blocking the driveway—without even checking who was actually responsible. I was supposed to use the washroom before driving home to Edmonton, but he angrily shouted again that we had to leave. We can’t fathom how he even got his job, given his rude and unpleasant demeanor. Worst receptionist ever. Considering the amount we paid for our short stay, being treated that way was unacceptable. I was forced to hold my bladder for hours, as he prevented me from using the washroom before leaving. We then got stuck in heavy traffic leaving Banff, which took almost four hours due to bad weather.

Loved the location. Just a short walk to the centre of town. Onsite restaurant was very good.

Very quiet hotel, very traditional decor, clean and friendly.

Didn't feel like a 4 star experience but nice nonetheless.
