Food was very good. Staff was great

I was hoping to have a marina view, but view was of buildi as within the marina.

My wife and I had been here before and really enjoyed the relaxed vibe here and affordable early 1980's charm of the basic hotel suite with small kitchen; as well as the excellent location in and around the old marina. At check in this trip we were greeted poorly by the front desk staff who assigned us to for all intents and purposes a ground level unit directly across from jackhammering construction work in the parking lot; when pressed as to why we were not provided with a higher level suite - were were told they were for the "timeshare owners" and not for people who booked on Expedia. Beware of being led to believe from photos and descriptions what you are perceived to be receiving. We fought hard for an 8th floor room but had to spend the first few days in their "dungeon area" - sadly frustrating and our last time at this resport.

El servicio pesimo, llegando te cargan un cobro de 14 dlls POR DIA DE ESTANCIA por actividades que ellos tienen, las uses o no, es obligatorio. La entrega del cuarto es de las 4pm en adelante, ellos encerio demoran, por cierto la salida es a las 10 am. Vas de vacaciones no a comprar nada, desde el primer dia te abordan y te tratan como pobre por no querer comprar una membresia, muy mala experiencia con Pablo, que fue el que se enojo porque no nos vendio nada, te habla mal, es grosero y despues de ahi te queda un mal sabor de boca, ni estas agusto en el lugar. El Hotel no es nuevo ni nada, es viejo estan remodelandolo asi que hay ruido y areas cerradas, por el estilo es un hotel normal.

Location is really great for our needs. Short taxi for dinner in town/excursion meetups but at the end of the marina peninsula, quiet and little traffic. Plenty of palapas on the beach. Full fridge and outfitted kitchen so a short taxi to the grocery store for all breakfast, coffee and some lunches for the whole stay. All grocery stores in the area are nice, Oxxo at end of drive is reasonable and great for drink/bread/fruit restock. Nice walk to the Marina for more restaurants/some shops. We did the suite, so plenty of space. Built like a concrete bunker so no noise from other rooms, wifi was ok, I rented a pocket wifi for work to ensure good coverage. Staff is super helpful, food on site very good, valets fantastic. Pool area large with plenty of shade. Also very good culinary water on site, no issues with water/ice. AC worked great. Also watched the iguanas in the treetops of the palms from our 6th floor balcony the whole time. Bonus.

This is an older location, very clean but some fixtures are tired. Breakfast is expensive, but it's a huge buffet if that is your thing. All food at restaurant and pool bar is fantastic...except the burger. Head to Rte 66 in the marina if you need a good burger. Limited kayak availability - the hotel next door just checks them out to guests, would be really nice to have that option since I was working during the one hour a day...and they were mostly booked full.

This resort is nice, but for RCI Points members, it is not a Gold Crown. We booked a 1BR unit for a week, then decided to add another week. We inadvertently booked a Hotel room the 2nd week though. After reading that the property was bought by another Vacation Club last year and is upgrading their units, we requested an upgraded one on a high floor. The 1BR unit we got was on the 9th floor and was not upgraded, with a partial (obstructed) view of the ocean. It had a full kitchen and was nice enough and clean, even if very outdated. We requested an upgraded Hotel unit for the second week on a high floor and got an older unit on the 5th floor, with a view of rooftops. It was probably the smallest hotel room we’re ever stayed in, with absolutely no amenities. Our feeling is that these were RCI exchange units and, even though the resort was far from being full, people coming in through RCI do not get any priority whatsoever. The resort itself is very nice; the grounds are very well maintained and lush. It’s easy to see why owners here like it a lot. All of the staff we interacted with were very polite and as helpful as possible. Carla at the front desk was especially helpful to us when we had a personal situation arise which required us to cut the second week short and return home early. We went down to the beach every morning around 7:30 to get a palapa right down on the edge of the bay. They were fairly plentiful, but taken by 8am; there were always chairs around the pool. The restaurant food was OK but expensive. Overall, our experience was all right.

Food is bland and overpriced. The fees are a little ridiculous. Don’t get a room on the first floor

Location location location! Safe, quiet, Older crowd, no disco pool music Very friendly staff, plenty of chairs and Palapas on the beach, but you have to wake up and be there by 4/5 AM to claim one! Plenty of chairs around the pool

Garbage cans in kitchen need to have lids/tops on them! Sounds petty, but when you have a kitchen with an exposed garbage can, you tend to have flies...a lot of them, annoying. Furniture needs to be updated, drawers in bedroom didnt close properly, couches have seen better days, lampshades are disgusting in the living room.
