Palace Hotel & Spa Buxton

Location Staff were very attentive to needs

Parking difficult at times Would have been good if pool had longer opening hours at weekends ( didn’t get a chance to use the pool due to timing of other commitments )

The building is a good design, unusual compared to most hotels. Bed was very comfortable and the seating in the lounge area very nice.

The room was big but seemed like a storeroom which had been brought back into use. There was an 8 seater dining table in the room and a standard lamp with a round pinned plug which must be 50 years out of date. The bathroom although large was long and poorly laid out, not pleasing to the eye.

Good location with plenty of pubs and restaurants close by Good internal reception area - very clean and well presented

Every time we flushed the toilet, it leaked on the bathroom floor - same with the sink and the shower … the bathroom floor was wet through majority of the time, which was not pleasant, especially with toilet water Beds are very uncomfortable and so are the pillows (we had to request more) Only 2 plug sockets, we couldn’t charge our phone and watch TV - the plug sockets were very old and just practically made the plugs fall out the wall We had 2 mugs in the room, 1 was clean, 1 was coffee stained all around the rim of the cup … the coffee tray wasn’t clean, and there was a code mark in front of the TV … could tell this was not wiped prior to us arriving Bad car park where we ended up having to make our own spaces as we had paid upfront

The hote smelt of just and bleach. Horrible mattress and pillows

Clean, quiet room, comfy bed. Short walk into Buxton.

No hotel restaurant menus in room. In the end we dined elsewhere after checking options at restaurant reception area.
