In need of decorating. the steam room didn’t work. paint coming off walls in bedroom. Bed felt like sleeping on wood. Breakfast awful.

Too few staff on for breakfast on a Sunday morning, meaning when breakfast items ran out, it took a while for them to be replenished.
For a while this has been my 'go to' hotel when staying in Sheffield but this stay has changed that view. When we arrived we signed in to pay for parking at £12 which was fine, but then were told later that on leaving the car park, we would have to pay again when re-entering. A trip out in the evening to meet family meant that another £18 would be charged to stay overnight. This meant a total overnight parking charge of £30! On checkout, I complained about this and was told by a different member of staff that I could have let them know that I was going out and coming back and would then have been charged only £18 for overnight parking (this was never mentioned until I complained). On check out, there were 2 members staff stood side-by-side having told me different things about parking! The cost eventually got reduced to £12 in total but the hassle was not pleasant and there was no apology. In addition, the male member of staff who greeted us on arrival seemed annoyed and lacked warmth.

Very dirty everywhere. Lift suddenly sinks. Reception staff extremely rude and not there 95% of the time.

GBGBA really clean and quality hotel. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The location is ideal for everything Sheffield and really well priced for a higher quality hotel in a City Centre.
The pool is quite small and you have to book a time slot for safety reasons (so they can control numbers). This isn't a criticism, just make sure you book on arrival.
GBThis is a great city centre hotel, offering excellent accommodation at a fair price. Our bedroom was clean, quiet & comfortable. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate. The staff were friendly & efficient. Lots to recommend.
