Everything was excellent

Staff were very helpful and polite. Hotel is immaculate with interesting wine history and links to the owners vineyards in California. The food was exceptional with a varied menu and the choice of wine is huge (apparently they have over 30,000x bottles on-site). We stayed in a junior suite with a balcony and lovely views of the neighbouring golf course.

The room was good Facilities extremely lacking No way is this a 5 star hotel - struggle to be a 3 star hotel TV had only VERY basic channels including NO BBC i Payer type apps Swimming pool was very very cold Drive way had more pot holes than the Somme Breakfast was really poor - only a very basic continental with no option of a proper English breakfast only very overprice weird cooked options Booked as a honeymoon treat based on the hotel posing as a 5 star and was shockingly disappointed It is no Shard /Claridges and not much better than a good Mariott

The service was very good and friendly. The spa was modern and pleasant design, well regulated for COVID with satisfactory access. The treatments were excellent. However we felt there were lots of smaller items which together did not make our stay a 5 star experience. E.g. there was a hole in my bathrobe, the room was cold, the restaurant was cold, one small packet of biscuits in the room. The food was good but small portions and over-priced. Breakfast included was continental and not particularly imaginative. The restaurant tables were somewhat marked with water marks etc and in need of refurbishment. For us the Vineyard did not live up to the hype on the website and compared less favourably to some 4 star hotels where we have stayed

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in UK, could t fault it

It was in a lovely location but we found the housekeeping generally wasn't good and the room we stayed in 215, had a lot of dirty marks on the carpet, scuffs on the wall. The bathroom was lovely green marble but the toilet seat was scuffed and chipped in. number of places and the glass shower screen was badly marked with hard water and the shower itself poorly angled so water gushed over the side of the bath. Staff weren't very friendly. we dined in the restaurant where we found the service very poor if you weren't drinking wine with dinner. The broccoli was stone cold on delivery and had to be sent back.

Perfect for short stay

We had a great weekend here celebrating my son-in-law's 40th birthday (belatedly!). Little touches like 2 gin & tonics left in his room with a "happy birthday" note, plus a note at the dinner table where a delightful personal touch, and made the weekend even more special. Also, my daughter's allergies were catered to so well, we are quite amazed at the hotel's attention to detail. Will definitely return as we didn't get a chance to use the Spa facilities.

Lovely night away - make sure you book a slot for the pool. We booked first thing and had the place to ourselves!

We had a lovely stay, my only bad comment was that when I booked I requested a cot and this had to be asked for when we arrived to our rooms but was sorted quickly
