Garner Hotel Cologne Porz - Airport by IHG

This property was close to the airport, roughly 10 minutes by car and affordable.

The elevator wasn’t working until the last day of our stay and our room was at the second floor. The road noise and the construction that is going on from 7 am to 6 pm even on Saturday’s didn’t let us sleep a little bit. Very noise hotel overall.

Our overall stay is fine BUT the wifi is very weak, we cannot access to internet. The hotel will need to improve the internet facility in the hotel.

It is not hotel , it is a hostel , no water for drink , no tlf ... in the room ( yes it was a tlf out of the work ) !! 😌😌 You don, t ask the people just please com and see the hotel , the place is not good you must inform to people the hotel is out of the city , I had pay 35 Eu for taxi to come the hotel I did, nt know how is far !!! I could get Best hotel with these amount which i had pay for hostel Marilla !! I am very UN please for this hotel with this hot weather that have not any to make a littel bit cold the room !

Right next to a huge construction site where work started at 7am

No A/C. No fans. No advise. Staff smoking in front of property. Maybe a winter stop, but that's it.

It had building work across the road and the path at the side of the hotel was noisy at night and inside the hotel was noisy as well

Elevator was out for the 10 days we were there, they said it would be another 8 weeks before it would be repaired. Wifi didn’t work for the first 6 days then it was only working on and off. Parking was available if you got back to the hotel early but if you get back after 7-8pm it was always full and you have to find street parking which is not easy to do.

If it wasn't for the elevator that seems to be permanently out of order (or at least for a very long time) and the (almost) non-existent reception service, I would definitely rate this hotel much higher - because the rooms are spacious, nice looking and clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are not bad either. But everything seems to be left in the void and all the quality is just a remnant of the once much more glorious past when this was a Mercure hotel. OK for a short stay, but with too many compromises - hardly compensated by the nice prices. Including the tagged with a price bottle of mineral water in the room that was actually half-full and nobody cared to do anything about it. And the slow and weak wifi. But at least they clean and change everything regularly.

The lift was out of order, level 5 for the single room
